    its nice that lou is really open minded about things. it seems like a lot of people in baseball are just stubborn and the exact opposite of him. It seems to me that keeping Fukudome in the five hole for as long as he has despite it being quite obvious he shuld be elsewhere is a sign that Lou is pretty stubborn himself. Yea The Riot and his close to .400 OBP was stinking up the joint in the #2 slot all year Tomy.

    Yea but the pitcher abuse research shows it's high stress pitches that are worse for a pitcher than just pure pitch count right? I don't think he's had a high stress inning this game. 96 pitches? Send him out and have someone ready.

Not even in the top 200 @ 16.5/IP. He has a lot of quick low-stress innings. To be fair, he jumps up to 81st when you make the minimum 20 IP. Well you are accurate, but that would still indicate to me that his use has been in no way "reckless" like many are trying to claim it to be. Lou has his share of stupidity and bad managing just as EVERY manager does, but if there is one thing it seems that he doesn't do, it's recklessly abuse pitchers.

    I think everyone is just a bit freaked out by his appearances over the last coupel of days. I didn't have a problem with Saturday at all, but yesterday was a bit perplexing insomuch as I thought he should have been gone after getting the 3rd out in the 7th (or was it the 8th? I don't recall). I'm a bit freaked out by his usage for the past year. It's been reckless. No, it really hasn't.
