    Bradley is under contract but the Dodgers are sick of his issues and will ship him out for basically anything. If Beane is really offering Zito for him he's out of his mind. Bradley is arbitration eligible though. If he isn't traded by the end of the week the Dodgers could non tender him and Bradley would become a free agent. Gammons said on Baseball Tonight just a little while ago that the A's are trading for Bradley. Take it for what it's worth. Are or aren't? Whoops. Aren't. Please Hendry, Please get him. Then some of the negative board talk will change as well. This place will be more fun to be around and we'll have our RF. Then get Wilkerson, maybe Lugo too.

    I can't believe the number of people that reluctantly would accept these 3 players. I swear some Cub fans just wont ever be happy. Lugo - speed/obp/solid de Wilkerson - speed/obp/solid de Huff - a chance to bounce back (he's not happy in TB). OVER Perez - no speed/no OBP/great de Pattterson- Speed/no OBP so he can't use his speed/solid de Burnitz - old and bad from last year is a HUGE upgrade. We'd have OBP at just about EVERY postiion.

    According to KSKD (St. Louis TV station), the Cardinals "Plan B" involves going after Jacque Jones and Brett Boone. I mean, seriously. Being a pretty split baseball fan (49% old school, 51% sabermatrician), I feel that the non-Burnett plan is just ludacrous. Think about it. Jacque Jones. Bret Boone. Deivi Cruz. 2005 OPS's: Jones: .757 vs .886 from Sanders Boone: .411/.684 (MIN/SEA) vs. .741 from Grudz Deivi Cruz: .698 vs. .704 from Nunez Uh... yeah... I would hardly call a lineup that features Pujols, Rolen and Edmonds "average," but signing the aforementioned trash could easily bring it down to that level. Granted, the money we use from missing out on Burnett might be used to really solidify the bullpen, but I don't know. Losing out on Burnett is like getting kicked in the balls. We were toyed with the whole time, and I knew we would get him! Damn Toronto. The minute Giles inked with San Diego, I suggested to my fellow Cards Talk members that they'd do anything to land Toronto. Looks like they have succeeded.. Well if he goes to the Jays, at least Cubs fans won't be the only fans repeatedly kicked in the nuts this offseason. I never thought I could ever feel kinship with a Cards fan before lol.

    I don't know how many people will agree, but I for one am glad that trade is false. Why don't you want abreu? If the only limitation is no Z or Prior, I don't want Abreu. The Philles have a hole at 3B, no?[Ramirez] They don't need D Lee, but if they could get him they could then go get a 3B AND top of the line starter. I don't get it, you'd only take abreu if you could get rid of z or p in the process? that's just weird I'm not sure if I made my post clear. This thread is for trades that won't happen. And Abreu won't be had for less than at least Prior or Z, which I'm not willing to give up as aren't MOST cubs fans, so we could through everything else at em including pie and pawelek and they wouldn't trade him. They want a front line starter. Therefore: A trade that won't happen is the Cubs sending anyone to the Phils for Abreu (not counting Z or Prior - because they are the only two that might bring a deal to fruition).

    Don't tell me you were expecting a good one from him. Actually, yes I was. Last year was bad because he was handcuffed. This year had a legimitate chance of being decent - at least with trades.
