  1. Seconded. This post makes no sense.
  2. Through the media? Believe me, I'm not a fan of Baker AT ALL, but whose to say he hasn't said the same things to Ronny? He may have answered a question he was asked by the media - but he very well could have already given these pointers and feedback to Ronny before this Q and A.
  3. Amazing that we might have Wood AND Miller back BEFORE prior.
  4. I haven't heard anything but some of you are privy to more information/better sleuths. So where are these two?
  5. I really don't think Dusty is laying the groundwork for anything. He's been actually pretty supportive of Cedeno it seems like this spring - and he's just trying to give him some pointers.
  6. Fine, but then you still can't qualify it as guys needing to step up and prove they want the job*. *Apologies if you didn't write something like this, maybe it was just others. If people have a problem with the picture, and mods want me to remove it, I will. But I suggest if you want to read a post I write then scroll so that the picture stays off the screen, then jump ahead when you're done. Better yet, ignore my posts because they're mostly trash. As I posted before, people can block images from certain servers. It's very convenient.
  7. I'm starting to develop a very prior/wood like man crush for him.
  8. did you say something? I was...er..distracted by a photo =P~ I don't mean to be hatin' Goony....but is the photo necessary? It means I can only skim your posts if I'm reading the board while I work. I don't want somebody to walk by my computer with a photo like that on the screen. You can right click--> block images from this server. Not ideal, but it works.
  9. Try that strategy for long and you'll get burned a lot. Most runs don't score because of the marginal rate of speed of the runners. Most runs score by a hit that leaves little doubt as to the result. Dude, buddy, you GOTTA change that sig. I can't concentrate on ANYTHING you type.
  10. Neifi a HR and two pop ups, which one will Dusty Notice? :?
  11. Dude, it's ST and be's batted all over the place. I doubt you can read into it at all. AFterall we have 4 2nd basemen playing in the same line up today, and I doubt that's an indication of what's to come.
  12. Neifurrrrrrrrrrrrrrry!!!!!!!!!! :ducks to avoid sharp objects:
  13. What is prior's myspace page?
  14. I don't think it's nearly as obvious as with Bonds. Sammy went from a swing at everything guy to a guy who would take walks. He was hitting lots of homers pre-98. Sammy was turning into a power hitter in his mid to late 20's. He took his last leap of power when he was 29. It was not an overnight change, nor was it an oddly timed changed. Bonds plateaud at the same level for years, then came out of nowhere at 37 with an entirely new body and power stroke. I'm not saying Sammy didn't. But the level of evidence against him doesn't come close to that of Bonds. You are correct there - I was more talking about circumstanial physical evidence - i.e his body explosion.
  15. Man if you can't see with your own eyes, what happened to his body, his flexibility seemingly overnight, then nothing will be able to convince you of it short of a written confession. I agree someone people are on a mission to crucify, but it's as obvious as it was with Bonds, from circumstantial evidence, that Sosa was on juice.
  16. I think he's an idiot because of the way he's handling it (through the media). His first move should have been to talk to Nationals' management about their plans for him before publically stating that he will not play at 2B. Both parties are being stupid. The Nationals should have asked him about moving to the OF before trading for him. Teams have asked him to move to the OF in the past and he's fought it. Why should the Nationals be any different, especially as he nears FA? They put themselves in this position. Soriano is taking the same position he always has...refusing the move from 2B. Both parties need to grow up. Handling it through the media can't be good for either side. Soriano needs to play to get his FA money. He's quickly becoming a problem child, which will affect his wallet. The Nationals need to realize they made a mistake by not asking him about the move before the trade was finalized. Beg forgiveness if necessary, but don't try to strongarm someone into doing something they've always opposed. Most teams don't consult with a player prior to trading for him. What's next, a refusal to bat a particular number in the lineup? *cough*Sosa*cough*
  17. And I respect your right to this opinion, but I don't think this applies to UK. He doesn't hate Hendry or blame him for everything. He does give him credit for some good things that he has done. Oh I wasn't implicating UK at all. In fact I don't know much about his opinions at all. I was more commenting on what I see in general with regards to Jim Hendry.
  18. I don't trust anything the Cubs, Dusty, or Mark O'neal says.
  19. I have come to the conclusion that the people that hate Hendry will blame him for everything and give him no credit or minimize his moves. Say what you will, but this is my opinon on the group think on these boards. Personally I don't think he's the worst GM, and I don't think he's the best either. He's made some poor poor moves with respect to vision and free agency, but he's made some GREAT trades in his time here.
  20. Yes Wood quite stubbornly refuses to make changes, because Steve Stone says it is so. How does anyone know what Wood has or hasn't done, or even if someone has attempted to "change his mechanics"?
  21. Let's hope the offense being down today is due to the split squad factor (wishful thinking, I know...) I'm pretty sure it's not wishful thinking - it's true. I'm pretty sure that our offense has been present the whole spring training. Plus offense isn't going to be present every single game.
  22. hurting what chances? It's not like he's gonna be left off the roster.
  23. Yes because people's mouths (whatever that means) have such an impact on the game on the field.
  24. Looks that way this year. Actually it looks that way most years. Look at Sweet 16, Elite 8, and Final 4 stats and you'll see them in there more often than not. Wwere you watching last year?
