  1. He has 40 games of it in the minors. Yeah, I mentioned it earlier this offseason, but I'd prefer Bogusevic to Clevenger as well. He can play first and unlike Clevenger he'd be able to spell Sori against tough RHP. Neither are particularly desirable options, though.
  2. This is all just an exercise because it isn't going to happen, but if you can't stay at Wrigley, where else is there to go but the suburbs?
  3. Neither am I. I've been skeptical of them all year, and the Big Ten tournament didn't do as much as one might expect to change that. I can easily see them losing their second game, and give them little chance of advancing beyond the sweet sixteen. If ND/ISU don't put them down, UNM will.
  4. If you would have seen Minnesota the last 2 months any game besides IU you wouldn't be so concerned. They can look really good but they also can play extremely dumb and fold up their tents easily. They've struggled mightily against zones. Too bad Ben Howland never zones, even with an unathletic team that can't handle man defense. Minnesota has been a disappointment over the second half of the season, but if they show up, you're going to get blown out (imo). It's a bad draw for UCLA. Having said that, it's hard to say which Gophers team will show up.
  5. Is there anywhere to follow that game? The only one I see on mlb.com is the one I'm going to delete from my dvr without watching it.
  6. Tunney, the man whose plan is to put billboards and huge video screens on residential buildings, is worried about the "aesthetics" of the renovation. It's amusing how flimsy the pretense is. The aesthetics only seem to matter when disturbed inside the park, an area that remains largely unseen from the neighborhood. He may as well come out and say "I'm grasping at straws because those whom I represent are terrified at the prospect of being kicked off of the gravy train". They're all hypocritical parasites and I hope they get well and truly shafted.
  7. Given the context I'm not sure how you could possibly believe anyone wouldn't think exactly that. You got me. I will commit suicide if Swope doesn't win the vote. For the record, I also care what you think of me so please like me. You've demonstrated clearly that you don't care about what people think of you. But what people think of A&M, on the other hand, seems to be of dire import to you.
  8. Given the context I'm not sure how you could possibly believe anyone wouldn't think exactly that.
  9. Are you being serious right now? Denard Robinson is a much, much, much more recognizable player, and that is really what this is about. It's a [expletive] video game cover. Anyone spending more than five minutes thinking about this seriously needs to examine their priorities.
  10. It sounds like they're going to give the starting job to Kozma.
  11. The odds of any one of those things breaking bad are pretty good. The odds of half of them going wrong are much less, and the odd of all or nearly all of them doing so it remote at best. Unless you want to take superstitious [expletive] into account.
  12. Well, you gotta be a realist.
  13. Yes, but to be honest I felt a lot more strongly about Sappelt deserving a big league roster spot at this time last year. And I think the question of who's going to backup 1B is an issue that may play a role in deciding the final roster spot(s), for right or wrong.
  14. Two thoughts. 1) That's not a compliment. 2) It'd better darn well be a "six outfielders" scenario and not a "Sappelt gets screwed again" scenario. I don't like it, but I'd probably prefer Bogusevic getting a backup spot to Clevenger (whose name I've seen on some bench projections). I could see six outfielders, but I have a feeling Sappelt is going to get left out again. His AAA stats last year dropped way off and he hasn't done much this spring to distinguish himself, either. I'd definitely prefer him to Bogusevic, but I'm not sure it'll play out that way.
  15. I don't see Clevenger making it, or Stewart being released. That pen looks like what I'd predict.
  16. I like Baez better, but he has more flame out potential, imo. I can understand why someone would feel better about Soler's potential to make to the bigs and be good. Javy feels a lot more like boom or bust.
  17. da bum Hahahahahaahaah! Yeah, can't say I've seen that one before.
  18. I hope they do away with the blue alternates, I've long felt they look like dressed up BP jerseys. I like TT's idea of the all whites with blue piping, but at the same time I do not want to see the pinstripes go. It's a good, classy uniform. But it sounds like that isn't even an option. Not sure how they'd include a navy uni unless it was only an occasional (maybe the Sunday uni?) thing. Though a 1911-esque uniform with the 1914-esque cap would be a cool navy ensemble, imo. If they do navy, I'd leave out the red. I really like the old navy/white contrast, it's clean and cool. And I don't want to see the return of the red billed caps. I never liked those at all. I don't feel like they should eliminate red from the color scheme, but it definitely should be minimized. The red borders on the lettering and in the "C" is plenty. I'm indifferent on the jumbotron. I tend to believe the Cubs when they say they won't do gimmicky stuff, for whatever reason. I think a good amount of revenue could be derived from it with just plain ads. Part of me doesn't like the idea of a jumbotron, but part of me wouldn't care if they made Wrigley up to look like the mothership from Close Encounters if it really helped the club win.
  19. Seems obvious given their SS situation, but that would cost them dearly, I'd think. Maybe Taveras plus - it was my understanding that Colorado has very little interest in moving Tulo. But you know he'd turn into Cal Ripken as soon as he got there.
  20. This game is ugly like Adam Woodbury. Yikes.

  22. PSU isn't as bad as their record. They're a trap game for any team right now. Well, maybe not after tonight.
  23. I can't believe UM let their guard down against PSU after PSU just gave them a game in Ann Arbor.
  24. And I'm pretty sure he said Brett Jackson was easily our #1 prospect. Yeah, he did that too. he just said we traded soriano to washington too That got me up and to the computer to check. I think he needs to retire.
