I don't live in Cards country or anything, so there aren't many of their fans to deal with. But the guy who owns/runs my favorite grocery store is one. One time I was looking for a second job, and I applied at the grocery store (it's a health food-type store, and I could use the discount, plus he gives his employees full benefits, even if they're part time). So this guy, who seemed like a nice old dude, says halfway through the interview "so your're a Cubs fan, huh? (I may be the most obvious/visible fan of a team in the whole town, I am constantly adorned in one type of Cubs apparel or another) I'm a die-hard Redbirds fan", to which I replied "well, we all have our faults, I guess." I was clearly joking, but his demeanor changed, and I did not get the job. Starting that fall, he started wearing an old Cards cap during the playoffs, which I had never seen him do previously. Not only that, but every time he saw me, he'd adjust it/tip it at me, and give me a smirk. Yesterday I went to the store and he tipped a nice new 5150 at me and chuckled. The moral of the story is [expletive] the [expletive] Cardinals. They can go to [expletive] hell.
