  1. Richmond is under used, Tisdale is overused and McCamey has become an enigma.
  2. He's just struck out over 5 years. 5 more and he could really damage the prestige of our team. You grossly overestimate the "prestige" of Illini hoops. This is the best run of recruiting we've had in a long time. If we loose the '11 and '13 classes, you'll see damage to the program. Now if we could get reassurance Jerrance would stay and most of the recruits would come, then cut Weber loose, by all means. Top 15 wins all time. Top 15 winning percentage all time. Most wins in the NCAA Tourny that doesn't have a title. Please, please don't buy into Peoriaman's we weren't that good anyways schtick. Look at the records over the past 40 years. We've endured far longer and worse stretches then this. We certainly aren't in a position to recover from losing 2-3 recruiting classes in any sort of timely fashion. Unless Jerrance will stay and retain most of those recruiting classes, you take your chances that the talent will outweigh Weber's ineptitude.

  4. Yes. You are out of your mind. Hire someone else, keep Jerrance on and start all over. I'm not thrilled at the compromise, but losing all our recruits would be a catastrophe. Why? Would we miss the tournament? I'd take my chances over the next 5 years with Bruce and the recruits over someone else w/o. Having said that, Jerrance is clearly the X factor.
  5. Back off the [expletive] ledge and take your meds. Things could be a lot worse. In life yeah. On the basketball court, no. We haven't lost to Iowa yet.

  8. Not a big win More like a big gift. Lord, that was a pathetic effort. And [expletive] Mike Tisdale.
  9. This is embarrassing.
  10. He's been awful all night, and yet they keep going back.
  11. with a blanket over his legs, a glass of brandy in his hand, smoking a cigar. That would be awesome. Jay would be my hero.
  12. you are, but lets face it, he kind of sets the president for what a really good returner should be paid. No one has ever been better. Sets the president? That's a new one.
  13. It seems to me that what the Bears need are OL, a more prototypical, #1-type WR and maybe a good corner. I'd like to see a power RB to complement Forte as well. Taylor is just redundant.
  14. I'm not even going to listen. There going to be a lot of idiocy spouted over the next couple weeks, and I'm going to try and avoid hearing as much of it as possible. No talk radio/TV for at least 10 days. Enough time for people to calm the [expletive] down and think.
  15. I'm sick of the Cutler hate as well. Let's get him an o-line and something more than a bunch of number three receivers before we throw him under the bus.
  16. Yeah, that's about it.
  17. I am nervous about the game, but I want a Bears win more than I've wanted a football win in a long, long time. I usually don't get nearly as worked up over the Bears as the Cubs, but a couple of nameless people in this thread have really got my motor running. And Colin Cowherd, that smug [expletive].
  18. That's because Martz was a stubborn fool in several games throwing the ball way too much. Eh, the number of attempts are pretty similar though. A few more for the Packers, not many. I think the Bears are going to need to run effectively to realistically have a hope of winning. So I hope we've solved any early season issues and can reliably give Forte the rock and have him pick up yards. If Cutler has to throw and the Packers know he has to throw -- well, I don't want to think about what might happen in that scenario. This game will turn on the Bears o-line, imo. If they don't come up big, we lose.
  19. Pretty much all of the 90's. Six times in the 90's we didn't win 20 games. Once under Weber have not won 20, and we will again this year. You make it seem like the Illini were a perennial power right up until the past few years. Unfortunately, it's just not true. Bill Self is missed, but not nearly as much as you make it out to be. You sound like someone who has been jilted and is so obsessed with their ex that they can't think straight. I liked Lon a lot too. And the 90s have to be taken with a grain of salt. We were screwed by Bruce Pearl. Also didn't we generally schedule less games in the 90's than we do now? Again I don't think we need to be Duke or Kansas, I would love that, but know it's not happening. I just don't want us sitting nervous on Selection Sunday every other year. Turnover happens. We went from first to 11th to fourth in Kruger's last few seasons. Let's see how these strong classes pan out before we call Weber a pox on U of I basketball. I didn't expect this year to go smoothly with so many new bodies coming in. I'm reserving judgment until late Feb/March.

  21. Slightly better than vuvuzelas.
  22. Too late for that, since he's clearly a zombie now.
  23. I hope the Steelers crush the Jets. All of this deference the Jets are showing the Steelers is clearly a thinly veiled effort to further disrespect the Patriots. I'm also sick of people all over Sanchez's knob. He is a mediocre QB, and I think the Steelers D really exposes him this weekend. Steelers 17-6.
