They need to do *something* sheesh. This team is in a stagnant hole right now, making no moves to replace released players, doing nothing during FA to improve the club at all. Draft day needs to come. Tomorrow. We're withering on the vine here.

That's possible and it's also possible that Theriot will work on his weaknesses and limit the holes. I'll grant you it's possible. He is closing in on 30, though. And I do think that matters.

I operate under the assumption that Theriot's numbers fell off a cliff because pitchers figured out how to work him. His spring numbers really don't mean much. Roberts' dropoff isn't nearly the kind of "off the cliff" failure that Theriot's was/is.

It's pretty funny to hear national experts continue to believe our short stop situation is solved because of Theriot. Heck, a lot of Cub fans really believe this too. .....I hate when these guys pick us to win it. Just makes me feel bad. I can't remember a time when we were picked to win anything and actually delivered.

Negotiation 101. If Hendry made an offer 3 months ago and kept it on the table, he's a bigger moron that I thought. Yeah, but once again, I don't think we really know that sort of thing. We're just hearing media jabber, it doesn't necessarily match up with the details of what happened behind the scenes.

This is what I want but I'm really REALLY pessimistic about that happening. I just don't think it's gonna happen. I don't see it either. Hopefully I'm wrong. -
SS & CF are probably going to be big holes for us no matter what. We may as well try to at least learn about some players, give them some time at the major leagues. If that means play Pie and live with a few struggles, then so be it.

I wish we something, anything substantial so we wouldn't even have to talk about Cedeno vs. Theriot. It's highly doubtful Cedeno will ever be anything special, and Ryan definitely won't. Damn crap SS position, been this way for years.

Is it possible the O's want Theriot and that's what's holding up this blockbuster of a thread....I mean trade? What's holding up the deal is that the O's don't know what they want, they just know it always needs to be "more." This is also why they suck at baseball.

The sad thing is, I was traveling yesterday and my experience of all the excitement was Stephen A. Smith on his radio show randomly breaking in "OH GOD WKY JUST HIT DA BUZZAH BEATAH!!" LOL. My fault. I was sitting in a restaurant and Drake had opened up a 6 point lead in overtime. I figured after coming all the way back, WKY had to be too tired. It's safe to leave, I told myself. :banghead:

That's right Wisconsin did go 0-fer against the Boilermakers this year. There was much angst and consternation here in Madison over that. At least at the time.
