  1. Bruce looked just horrible there.
  2. This is typical Dusty. He's lucky the decision to leave Volquez in didn't backfire, although Hardy was very close to making that happen. Yeap. Dusty is still Dusty.
  3. Alright Dusty your young arm now has 110 pitches through 6.2. Got the guts to pull him? ......nope. Leaves him in.
  4. Crew might've gotten jipped on that call, after looking at the replay.
  5. I guess your right with Josh Fogg winning a game and Ben Sheets losing a game in this homestand One example doesn't overturn the general rule. The Crew are 30-16 at home, a .652 winning percentage. Yeah they are a good home team but that doesnt mean you can ignore the fact that the NL's ERA leader is starting for the visitors. Or wait I think Lincecum is now the ERA leader. Guess we don't have to worry about him tomorrow though Well we've actually got a more favorable "matchup" tomorrow than this is supposed to be for the Crew, but when you look at the records of a team like the Brewers and Cubs at home, it doesn't take much to see that the team will beat a good pitcher more often at home. So in short -- I'd rather be facing Lincecum tomorrow at home than in SF.
  6. Does he have anything else to go to? Honestly I don't even care to look since it's been almost a guarantee that the Pirates will turn into garbage every year on the whole.

  8. You can pretty much throw out pitching matchups when the Crew are at home. Brewers will very likely win this game obviously.
  9. LaRoche pounds one, 5-3 Cards.
  10. The way the Rays are playing right now makes me wish interleague play was moved back a few weeks.
  11. Rays not ending the first half the way they had hoped.
  12. Where's our resident pirate fan and his "Pirates are getting that winning feeling" spirit these days?
  13. I wouldn't exactly say that. I mean, he is 2 for 2 so far tonight. I'm referring to the horrible jump he got on the hit and run, and then the error last inning.
  14. Fielder homers, 3-2 Reds. Nice job turning a solo shot into a 2 run homer Hairston.
  15. Hairston looks like the real Hairston so far today.
  16. This is one of those WMLW-41 Brewer games. Not broadcast in the Madison area -- you need to have EI to watch your team. And yeap, they enforce blackout rules even though the game isn't on. It's just weird that they have these games that don't get broadcast in the whole Brewers area, yet they blackout other stuff (like the superior HD broadcast of the other club). I know, I know -- who cares on a Cub board you idiot? Just sayin' stuff to say it :)
  17. Not sure if you're referring to me, but I never said that. Actually never even came close to saying that. as raisin pointed out above, that's a common theme on this board. nobody said lee or aram "must be hurt" when they were in pretty bad funks this year. but zambrano, hill and marmol have all had a majority of the board thinking that they're hurt when in fact, they were just slumping (well zambrano and hill were; we don't know either way on marmol yet). That's fine. I don't disagree with it. I just think Marmol's real issue should be discovered and fixed before he is simply thrown out there to blow up again.

  19. Fox's contract needs to be changed. I'm deliberately avoiding their stupd Dback/Phillies game right now. As if someone in Wisconsin gives a damn about those two teams. In retrospect though -- I'm kind of glad to not have seen this one on TV. My heart might have exploded.
  20. No. He's broken. Responding to you and NC, I respectfully disagree. He didn't have it today and has been inconsistent of late. He has not been getting hit hard for the most part. The problem isn't that he is broken, its that Lou left him out there too long today. Go back and watch the replays of the hits he gave up today. Hanging slider after hanging slider. Maybe he's not injured or whatever, but his slider is most definitely broken and he won't be successful unless he regains the movement he used to have on it. He has zero command of his fastball right now too, which just makes things worse. The velocity is still alright from my perspective though. I'm not sure what to make of a fastball that maintains velocity but no control -- loss of confidence, perhaps? Changed arm angle? Either way, I respectfully disagree with you. He's broken right now. He's had control problems in the past. Well, what's your definition of broken then? I'm not saying he can't regain his form.

  22. I don't blame Carlos for continuing to try. I think it's the managerial team's responsibility to know what's happening and make the appropriate adjustments. Keeping Marmol out there like that seems to be a bad plan -- not the way to put us in the best position to win, which is Lou's job after all.
  23. He seemed to search for something to say for like 30 seconds. Weird. Is he hiding something here? Hiding something or feeling responsible? I don't know. I just find it weird that someone finally asks the question about Marmol's pitch movement and suddenly there's silence. I mean that's the whole ball of wax here. Who cares what he learns from this? The fact is, if that slider spins up there like that he will continue to get pounded. That's our core problem with Marmol.
