  1. He rarely gets hit by anyone, but I agree they need to get more pressure. As for the fumble call, to go back to that, I don't understand something. The refs agree it was a fumble, but just because they couldn't figure out who ended up with it (when it looks, btw, like it was Wolfe from the start) they give it back to the fumbling team? How does that make sense? It's a 50/50 call at that point. Puzzling. They clearly didn't blow the whistle until well after the play, because I didn't hear a whistle and Michaels confirmed it didn't happen until afterwards. So someone knew who recovered the ball and then blew the whistle. I really want to see them called to task on that one. There's no way they can explain their way out of it. They simply decided to give the Colts the ball back, in spite of the rules. It's outrageous. This should be an even bigger lead.
  2. I love how Madden said "all of the NFL is sad over the loss of Brady." I'm not one to wish injury on anyone, but.......WUT? Nobody's upset over Tom "I'm GQ and you aren't" Brady's injury except Patriot fans. Come on.
  3. That was a great play, but I wish Greg would have gotten out of bounds. I'll take it.
  4. My goodness, JSC just got used like snot rag.
  5. All you need do is ask.
  6. Either that or they hit the wrong button on the crowd noise generator
  7. Sad, but that's always a possibility. Call upheld. Now -- it would be nice for a no-mistakes, productive drive to end the first half.
  8. Yep, I was thinking the same thing. That's why I said Dungy should challenge. It's close enough that the refs can screw it up in Indy's favor. This is going to suck if they overturn it.
  9. I'd challenge that despite what Michaels says.
  10. Harrison appearance!
  11. Who plays at the baseball field?
  12. LOL, that's true. But still. That hit by Sanders was very Lynch-ian.
  13. you're putting mark carrier in a league with those guys? okay. Well he was a good player who had a reputation for being a vicious hitter. How about Steve Atwater? Lynch was a great hitter too. Then the refs started realizing he was cheating and he's not so dominant anymore.
  14. Wait, we just quick-slanted them back? I like it.
  15. I don't know about all that, but that was definitely a rule-book violation on that play and it wasn't called.
  16. How come Bob Sanders can do that but Mike Brown can't??
  17. Seriously, it really disturbs me that the refs make that bogus roughing call and we haven't seen any up the middle blitzes since. It's like they are controlling what the defense is allowed to do. That really bugs me. This isn't the football I remember in years past, and it's definitely less enjoyable.
  18. That's what was ruled, but that's not why the play wasn't overturned. They "couldn't" overturn it because the refs stopped paying attention and therefore couldn't prove that the Bears recovered the ball. It was laziness with a hint of incompetence at best. That's what the announcers speculated was the reason the refs might have a problem overturning it, but all the ref said that the play stood as called. He could just as easily have been ruling that he was actually down by contact as anything to do with which team recovered. Many times on complicated plays like this, you hear the announcers go on and on about how the referee is checking this, when actually they ruled something completely different. I wouldn't base anything on what the announcers believe is the reason. No, they said they confirmed it with the replay official during the following break. Hmm..I didn't hear that. Wow. That is terrible. If there is no clear winner going into a scrum, then you award the ball to the person who comes out with the ball. That was clearly the Bears who came out with the ball. And Madden does it again..he says that last year they liked to play Gonzalez in the slot and Wayne on the outside. The Colts have been playing Wayne in the slot frequently on 3 WR formations for years. It's not any different this year. He also talked up how the Colts do a good job protecting the run up the middle on 3rd down about 10 minutes after Forte's TD. He's fallen sooooo far from where he was. I'd rather hear almost anyone else at this point.
  19. A few more games like this one and I'm going to want to see Vasher replaced. He's horrible right now.
  20. Yep we'll probably see that all year. D gets a couple stops. "Hey let's try some slants!"
  21. Went to the wrong side. If he had gone to the left he might have had a hole. It was done with a purpose. I don't mind the call. Hopefully later on they won't be able to T-up on Orton on 3rd down.
  22. What the hell is going on here? Indy pays for the right to host the Super Bowl and part of the package is a guaranteed win for the first game at this stadium? WHAT A JOKE.
  23. Oh that's a fumble. And oh that's Bear football. And oh if the refs don't rule it that way they should be fired.
