It's amazing. The refs serve notice that any contact with Peyton will be punished, and all of a sudden, no more blitzes. Come on. Can't we see what the teams would really do against each other without ref influence?
Freeny came through both St. Clair and Forte on that 3rd down play. So much for being ineffective due to lingering injury concerns. Orton better watch his back because the pass protection sure isn't going to.
What I saw on that drive was some pretty good playmaking to get the stop, but also some ineffective blitzes up the middle against that inexperienced Colts core.
It could, but I get this feeling it won't matter as much as we hope it will. Ugoh was going to be a big problem last year too. Turned out to be alright for them.
Mark Bradley inactive, why am I not surprised. It's time to move on, IMHO. But I think I know why the Bears aren't. They're desperate to get any of that potential from him because the WR cupboard is so bare.
They would if the Bears scored a couple TDs with that 40-yard-line field position. It seems safe to say "we won't kick to him" because it seems safe to think the Bears can't do anything about it. *sigh*
That's correct. Didn't the Bears have the best field position in the NFL last year? The Bears have to make other teams pay for that. I heard that the Bears might be slotting their new LG to start b next week. That has to be an upgrade correct? If he's really healthy, I would think he's an upgrade. Week 2 might be too soon though.
My level of enthusiam is less this year. Much less. But I'm willing to give Lovie/Angelo just one more chance to build it back up. If I can see some young players develop and start to see a path to the future at a few positions, I'll watch. I'm nowhere near as gung-ho as I was a few years ago though. Back then we had a young up-and-coming defense that was promising to wreak terror on the entire league. The possibilities seemed endless -- good times indeed.
They do it because "the Cubs always blow it" and OMG THEY'RE ABOUT TO DO IT AGAIN! Wait until the playoffs come and they break out the goats and black cats.
He's getting outs. With the lead he has the last thing he should do is nibble around. Yes the Grand Slam looks bad but we're still talking a 5 run lead here.
