    The Gaudin injury is really disconcerting. Anytime you have to fly back to Chicago for "further tests" is never a good thing. I didn't even know about that. Yep, that's not very encouraging. Are we going to have anyone to go to outside of Marmol and Wood by the time the playoffs roll around?

    So what exactly happened to Miami anyway? They went completely down the tubes. They used to have every top recruit on the planet and just go out and destroy people.

    The bullpen's been getting worked and I don't expect him to make the playoff roster. I'm fine with it. Rosters are expanded and the Cubs have an offday on Monday. I know the pen threw a lot of innings yesterday but this seems kind of pointless. Howry only threw 9 pitches yesterday. I say give him the ball and let him go. I'm not angry about it, I was just throwing it out there. It was good to see Jason get one last out and then get pulled. Leave on a good note.

    I'm not all that sure of the wisdom of keeping Marquis in here, either. He's actually been one of our better starters lately.

    If he does, Dusty might simply say screw you and walk him.

    Pretty nice move by Jason to wait for an inning to talk to the ump. Hopefully that clears the air and we get better calls. That guy looks like the kind of ump who will make bad calls to satisfy a grudge.
