    It was awesome. He totally flattened Molina. Yadi wasn't expecting anything like that from a pitcher. And then when Lily came up to bat, Looper threw one high and Lily put out his elbow as if to say "I dare you to throw at me." Great.

    I believe the Cards bunted with Barton, who was hitting for the pitcher, correct? That's why Izzy came up afterwards, because TLR hits the pitcher 8th. Yeah. If it would have been a callup Lou was dealing with, then maybe I don't freak out over the bunt call. Doing it with Soto is an entirely different story altogether. So that's an apples & oranges comparison.

    I actually like it when a hitter squares up on the first pitch (as if he is going to bunt). Anything to shift the defense a little bit might be enough to punch the ball through the infield or over a defenders head. Yeah. I actually thought, "Soto, you crafty mofo making them think you're going to bunt so they move in at the corners." Oops I thought he'd just do it on the first pitch. Then he kept doing it. I was beside myself with disbelief. I still can't believe it, really. Cards are like, "OK, just pin Pie to 1st with some throw-overs, and let them hand us the double play." On top of that, the Cardinals seemed to be giving the Cubs tons of extra time to change their mind with all the attempts to pickoff Felix, as if out of pity. I know. I really wish Bruce would have been able to get that question in. I want to know why Lou thought that would work.

    The Sun Times recount of it said that Lou looked really angry and his face got redder as the interview went on. Cool. On the field meltdown is surely on tap.
