Monday October 6, 2008 2:36PM Well at least he isn't stubbornly refusing to acknowledge Kyle's been playing better. That's a fairly stark contrast to '06. I can't remember when King finally started to realize we were a good team that year, but I seem to recall it was pretty late -- like not until we won a playoff game late.
I think this, and then I think back to what Leinart did to us in '06. He wasn't supposed to be able to beat our D either. The biggest problem I see is, with a young guy like Ryan there's not much game film you can go to in order to really understand his tendencies. Small sample size could = incorrect assumptions. That's when you can get beat by one of these young guys. So we'll see. It should be an interesting game, and it's a great chance for the Bears to really start building momentum. Don't blow it, boys.
Crazy game. It should be noted that the Saints' best DT is out, and Minny STILL can't run. Yet because of Saints gaffes and bad ref calls, the Vikes are in position to take control of the game with like 50 total yards of offense. LOL.
How on Earth can the Vikings be this bad running the ball when they've got Adrian Peterson, a human road grater for a left tackle, and a heck of sidekick in Hutchison on the left side? Embarrassing. So just have Taylor throw for the TD, LOL.
Depends on what the Cubs do in the winter. I could see being excited by the time '09 rolls around. It just depends. Like I've said, you have to keep getting into the playoffs over & over. Eventually you'll win. Part of the problem is that Cubs fans always feel like if they don't win this year, they'll have to wait another 10, 15 years for their next shot. Be a playoff team every year, and that anxiety will vanish. And with the resources at our disposal, there's no reason we shouldn't be a playoff team many more years than we have been in the past.
'85 is still even higher than '03 for me. I assume you mean 84? 85 was more disappointing than 2001 for me - the Cubs were on top til all five of their starters went on the DL. Yes yes, '84. My bad. '85 was like, "oh wow 8 game losing streak. just a skid... ....12 games. please start winning. ....14 games, oh crap season over." I think that was May.
I don't think this one will be nearly as easy as I originally thought when I first saw the schedule. I'm under no illusions -- it's a road game, in a dome, Atlanta's much better than Detroit. Probably a very close game. Hopefully the Bears come out on top.
OK, it was a bad pitch. You can't just disregard circumstance, though. The Dodgers pitchers made bad pitches too. They didn't have a bunch of baserunners on base for theirs because of their defense though. yep. 4 infielders. 4 errors. I'm very comfortable with the reason I think we lost game 2. And it wasn't Zambrano.
Yeah I wouldn't take it for granted that we will automatically stop Atlanta's run game just because we have been good against the run early. Atlanta's got a better ground attack than the likes of Philly without Westbrook, and the woeful Lions.
They really aren't all that bad. This year is a development year for Ryan, but if they continue down the path they are on right now, I could see them being a pretty solid ballclub next year. Last year was abysmal, but they've rebounded quite nicely IMHO. It's hard to say if they'll continue up or head back down though. But I suppose you could say that with most NFL teams.
Personally I really couldn't care less if I'm right or wrong about a QB in this town. Show me someone who can play well, and I'll back the guy. I thought Grossman was being criticized for not only the things he sucked at, but also the failings of the rest of the offense. Even so, I'll readily admit I didn't expect this level of play from Kyle and if he keeps this up I would be happy to never see Grossman again. I agree. I wonder if we could re-sign Grossman for a back-up, or if another team will let him start. I don't think another team will let him start, at least not right away. But Rex probably feels differently. I wouldn't mind Grossman being the backup in Chicago if he'll take the job. He might just want a change of scenery at this point, which I suppose is understandable.
