    After watching last offseason I don’t think the Cubs would do much even if the contract situation was more favorable. Seems pretty clear they want to build from within first. Looking for an Imanaga shut down performance today. Do we ever need it.

    I’m worried about most of the roster who are new to the Cubs because a lot of solid early season performances have given way to a major drop off, which suggests the team just happened to have a collective streak but really wasn’t good to begin with.

    I don’t understand why he wouldn’t be feeling some heat. His contract is through 2025 - so coming up. Since being named president he’s never had a playoff team. With the angel on his shoulder gone his lack of competence is exposed for all to see. If his current squad doesn’t start performing I’d say he needs to do exactly what you said.
