  1. Some rando taking a stab so if they happen to be right they get to say they were right and hopefully gain followers.
  2. Just keep Fields for now. Jersey’s right, the only argument that they must be rid of him is this cockamamie idea there will be a collision of egos. Old timey meatball stuff.
  3. I don’t know if anyone else is surprised by the pro-Fields legion that exists in Beardom but I am. It’s probably because I haven’t seen that before. It’s always people wanting to make a change.
  4. Yes. There is no other path forward other than accepting what we have and building around it. We’ve been down that road many times through the years. I’m not wanting to take another trip; it’s a dead end.
  5. I think it’s highly likely the Bears draft Caleb and it makes me nervous. Generational talent or not, can he read defenses in a snap and get the ball out before defenses can even react. I don’t think that question has been answered. Maybe it can’t be answered until he actually plays in the NFL. He’s no slam dunk though. Part of my nervousness is simply because I have no reason to believe the Bears can take any talented QB and coach him for success.
  6. Man, I’m super happy with this. Especially considering the concern raised over Belly’s numbers last year. He gets a chance to prove it wasn’t a fluke and we don’t have to take a chance that it was. Seems like a win/win.
  7. It had to be because they were sitting fastball. I mean, had Chapman ever taken that approach to an inning, either before or since that one inning? Then he went back fastball, probably just as they were thinking OK, he's throwing the slider. Maddon gives the credit largely to Miggy for that. But Chapman had to be willing to throw what he had to know was a hittable pitch.
  8. I can't explain it but somehow I stumbled across this halfway through by luck. It was very entertaining for any Cub fan. I definitely recommend setting a DVR for Saturday, or just watching it. On the topic of Maddon's legacy. His game 7 moves were always going to be picked apart. At the time I couldn't understand the Hendricks move. I was angry about it. But now, it just feels like the Cubs were going to have to punch through all the obstacles that would have sunk them in years past. And they did. For once and for all, they did. Is there anything more crazy than that rain delay out of the blue? Kornheiser called it the tears from heaven. It's just insane that happened. And I'm surprised I didn't break a bone or pull a muscle jumping around like an idiot in my living room when Rizzo caught the final out.
  9. No way Fields is the next Mahomes so it’s definitely time to draft QB at #1. Poles’ entire legacy will ride on whether he makes the right choice on that pick. His entire career, down to one decision.
  10. Why did they make the Counsel move? Because they think he can get passable results while they skimp off on salaries for players? Why would Counsel agree to such a thing? I must admit to being confused by how the offseason started and how it ended up.
  11. Very happy for both Hester and Mongo. Beyond all the memories of Mongo playing, that time he was in the booth at Wrigley and called out Angel Hernandez on the mic was insanity......and totally Mongo.
  12. I love the Taylor Swift thing because it makes so many people angry (or faux angry). Show her more. Dedicate a pre-game hour to her and Kelce's relationship only. Helicopter coverage of her getting off the plane and her motorcade to the game. Anything else you can think of. How about NORAD coverage of her plane flying over the ocean just like tracking Santa on X-Mas eve? Go balls-out on it.
  13. Yeah most of the time the average Chicago fan is clamoring to axe the starting QB. Kind of strange to see the opposite, especially when there’s enough reason to believe he isn’t going to blossom into a superstar QB.
  14. I would have expected a QB coach to emphasize quick decisions and accuracy. Ability to read defenses and call plays at the line. Less emphasis on “swagger”
  15. It has a chance at being a great game but I feel the same way. There’s always the Puppy Bowl.
  16. If that’s a coach decision I’d be trying to weigh those things. In that split second we have a player who sees the goal line and he decides to go for it. I can understand that much more than his decision to stand over a defender and taunt him. also, I am so done with journeys don’t stop believing.
  17. Well this sucks. 2020 Matchups KC / SF Biden / Trump 2024 Matchups KC / SF Biden / Trump
  18. Eh, he’s being aggressive, the goal line is right in front of him. I don’t want a player who just goes down instead of trying to score.
  19. I get being aggressive but the first time the 49ers leveraged it to start the comeback and this time the Lions gave up the tying points.
  20. The shift in this game was massive and quick. I doubt that watch party in Detroit is rockin’ anymore.
  21. I could understand the fumble because he’s close to scoring and I don’t think he ever saw the defender who knocked it out.
  22. I still miss Montgomery. He’s become a big part of what Detroit does. Legit solid all around back.
  23. I can’t see the ravens coming back from that.. what a defensive play.
  24. This seems like the most likely scenario to me. Which is horrible. Not paying attention in any scenario is inexcusable. In this scenario it’s beyond belief.
  25. Will the ball come out quickly and accurately? For me that’s the evaluation. I’m frustrated by the QBs we’ve brought in that can’t process quickly enough. I know it’s also probably the most difficult thing to project from college to pro.
