  1. Should've been at least 10 with that Atlanta game. The GB win serves as a counter-balance to the Atlanta loss. Back to 9. I see your GB, and raise you the week 2 Carolina game. LOL, touche'
  2. The problem is Marinelli was promoted directly from DLine coach to HC. He doesnt have a DC resume to fall back on like Dick LeBeau did. I would be fine with him as DLine coach, im not sure what upgrade he would be over Babich at coordinator. He was also assistant head coach for 4 years in TB. He might not be a good DC. All I was saying is that his failure as a HC should not serve as an automatic disqualification on his resume for DC jobs.

  4. The sad thing is, I don't really sense a big shakeup coming. Babich is clearly on the hotseat. What else would likely change? They'll probably go into '09 with Kyle at QB, most of the same Oline, the same Dline and LB corps except maybe one addition. Mike Brown might be done -- replacement won't be as good. I'm pretty pessimistic about this team, and I have been since about half way through the '07 season. The arrow has clearly been pointing down, and remains so, despite winning two more games this year.
  5. Just watching the 3rd period last night, and a tear comes to my eye. In years past, with a 2 goal lead, invariably you'd see the Hawks play the game almost entirely in their own zone, like they're defending a power play or something. And many times the other club would tie it up. Last night? The final 5 minutes was nearly the opposite. It was awesome seeing the Wild with 6 men, still sitting in their own zone trying to defend an open net against our 5. Crowd booing the whole time. Awesome. Awesome. That's how you kill a rally before it starts. I love this team.
  6. There are bad head coaches who are good coordinators. Marinelli's failure as HC of Detroit should not disqualify him for jobs as a DC.

    NFL Week 17

I just can't wrap my mind around the 12-4 Colts having to travel to the 8-8 Chargers to play their first playoff game. That and the 11-5 Pats not making the playoffs. Unbelievable.
  8. I just don't think Turner will get the axe this offseason. He's had little if anything to work with. Babich has had pro-bowl calibre talent to work with and has tanked. Turner's been trying to eek out some kind of offense from essentially nothing. There's a big difference there, in my mind.
  9. I wish he had a stronger leg, but I'll take Gould because he seems to make those end-of-game kicks. Actually it should go as a credit toward the entire FG kicking unit. When you look at how the Packers pissed away last weekend's game due to an inability to make a critical kick, you begin to realize there's value in what that unit does. Lots of guys miss the shorter ones with the game on the line. For whatever reason, we don't seem to. Would be nice if Gould could kick those longer ones though.
  10. I'm beginning to tire of hearing about "wish lists" and "top choices" Show me results. So far there have been little, if any.
  11. Ummm? Go for it? Or not? ....I say go for it. To hell with it.
  12. Manning actually having a very good game.
  13. "The advantage Kyle has over Rex is ball security."
  14. With better linemen on both sides of the ball, I think you'd see the rest of the roster suddenly look a lot better. Yes. Not going to make Kyle good enough to be a solid NFL starting QB. Not going to make those craptastic receivers passable. But yeah, if you replace what? 5-7 lineman out of 22 starters? Sure, the team would be better.
  15. Kyle freaking sucks. Sorry, decent enough guy, but he's a career backup at best. We need players all over the damn roster. I've seldom seen a team with winning record in need of so much.
  16. Thanks Kyle. We need a QB again.
  17. He's never had that deep ball even when he was on and healthy. But, let him throw bad pass after bad pass and you hear nothing, yet Grossman can't take off his head towel without being booed. Orton's no better. Never has been, really.
  18. I just can't take watching the ineptiude. And I can't stop watching the damn game. I'm in hell.
  19. Get ready for those dry heaves......Brown out for the game, it'll be Steltz sticking his nose in there now.
  20. For the moment. Sorry to be pessimistic but we really shouldn't be close in this game. I can't figure out if it's because of lucky breaks, or because the Packers like to piss games away, or both.
  21. Whatever he had in the early season, it's lost and gone far away, despite that TD pass.
  22. It seems every time there has been a pivotal game this year, the Bears have not only played poorly.....they haven't even shown up. If it wasn't for lucky breaks we'd be down by 21 points. This is hard to watch, current lucky break aside.
  23. Yeah, just kind of a weird one. I really wasn't all that excited about it from the beginning, mostly because of the Cubs while TC/Preseason was going on. Then they ripped my heart out with some really bad late losses, and I haven't been all that excited about anything since. I didn't even put forth more than the token effort at getting tickets. I'm more or less considering this a transition season -- hoping for a couple good players in this offseason to lift us to a better level next year. I am suprised they've won as many games as they have though. I think they overachieved in some areas, but held themselves back with some very disappointing defensive breakdowns.
