  1. Taylor had himself a ball game. I didn't see it live but I'm looking at the highlight reel. Punting usually isn't a highlight but yesterday it was.
  2. Holy moly what a game
  3. Hahah. Unreal
  4. Because they suck. This 8 in the box thing is as much about knowing the shortcomings of the Bears' ability to put forth a winning strategy as it is about Caleb being a rookie. I like the article too, but he's putting a lot on the rookie QB when really that defensive strategy is elementary school and any decent OC / HC should be able to shred it on the 2nd drive. Instead they take until the 2nd half to do it.
  5. Jed's payroll keeps increasing though. It seems like his seat should be red hot right now.
  6. Pretty good article Matt. The biggest question to answer in this “gap” scenario is whether Jed is the right guy to take us from 80-something to 90-something. To me the answer is clearly no. If he really doesn’t understand the entropy concept that you laid out, I’d say that just further solidifies my opinion.
  7. That’s what I’m seeing too and it’s the biggest separator for him over a guy like Fields. I honestly did not expect it to be that quick but admittedly I didn’t watch a ton of USC. Ball has to come out quickly and not a lot of QBs can do it that fast.
  8. Give me the Texans’ staff and you’ve got yourself a deal.
  9. He's doing better than I think could be reasonably expected for sure. But with that Packers running game topping the league, of course it's a huge assist.
  10. Oh man. 👏👏
  11. That’s what made me go into rage mode on our OC earlier in the thread. That was the game, as it turns out.
  12. It’s a 360+ yard day with 2TDs. That is a line we don’t often see next to a Bears QB. I’m happy to see that, for sure.
  13. I’m going to be honest I had never heard of Waldron before the Bears hired him and I could have done without ever knowing about him. This guy is a bum and it’s really depressing that this is the sort of coordinator our leadership thinks should be given a shot.
  14. I just want to point out that the Packers ran it up the middle all day long against Indianapolis for mega yards. And everyone knew they were going to do that.
  15. 1 of those TDs was a Levis pick 6
  16. Levis is not long for this league.
  17. That’s a fine road win by the Illini
  18. Also it’s harder to defend a loss to the Colts. With Houston, they are better than the Bears. We lost to a superior opponent.
  19. Waldron so far: 🤔 🤨 😦 ☹️
  20. Guess I’m not getting this one on TV. If the Bears lay a big turd on offense against a defense that looked disinterested against the Packers, the contrast will be stark and panic mode will be activated. I’ll take Bears in this one, 20-13.
  21. If we have Mayfield, Darnold, and Fields all performing decent/good with new teams I'd say that's a strong indicator that QBs can be ruined by bad organizations. Which brings up the question: how many of the Bears' QBs were misses in scouting and how many would have been at least serviceable if not for the ineptitude of the coaching? With a guy like Caleb, it's hard enough to become a good NFL QB without having to swim upstream navigating terrible coaching and gameplanning at the same time.
  22. I'll take any silver linings I can get.
  23. I watched that Mooney TD play and he looked like an absolute stud. Although another play he quit on his route and it probably would have been another TD.
  24. With Peyton, as late as his 4th season he was still tossing a lot of INTs but he was always north of 20 TDs so that helped calm the masses.
  25. That's how I feel about it too. He's not showing the inability to make a read and throw quickly. Also I don't know the specific numbers on his arm motion but he zipped a couple balls with a very quick-looking motion and one of them was without his feet set. No way in hell Mitch could have done that, and Fields had all kinds of athletic skills but I didn't see that from him either and it's a critical ability, in my opinion.
