  1. Weak. I'll bet he spent all of 15 minutes on that.
  2. Despite some early success I was never convinced Marinelli or, any other coach for that matter, would make much of difference. Garbage in = Garbage out The constant praise of Marinelli was very annoying. It's not that I didn't want him coaching the DLine. I was fine with it. But it was just way too much.
  3. I'd go so far as to predict that Bradley will be traded within a week of the WS ending, and quite possibly the next day (a la the Renteria trade in 2007). Unlike a lot of baseball deals, this one will not take long to consummate IMO. Well, if he's going to go I'd rather it not take all offseason so I guess I would count that as a good thing.
  4. Also, this is the 2nd straight game now that they've failed to record a single sack. What started out as a promising campaign for Marinelli and his DLine has turned into a nightmare of getting blown off the ball, no pressure on the QB -- being dominated on most plays. I was just struck with how badly they were being blown back, consistently. Forget penetration. They were being sent back 3 yards, every running play, consistently. It's pretty hard to stop the run game when you are backpedaling with a 300 lb OLineman driving you off the line of scrimmage. It was unbelievable. I don't think I've seen that from a Bear DLine before.
  5. Mine wasn't down, but basically all day long there were audio cutouts and freezes. This was true both on my DirecTV feed, and on over-the-air reception. They need to fix that crap.
  6. Best they can hope for after 8 games is 4-4, IMO. They've got very little shot at the Vikings, so that's 2 more losses. They'll likely lose to the Pack, that's 1 more. If you add in a loss to the Ravens in Baltimore -- we're talking 8-8, best case.
  7. Wow, that was some catch in coverage to basically save the Giants' last chance.
  8. If they can manage to win 2 out of their next 3 they will be in great shape. Yeah they took care of business today. Looked more like what I was expecting from them.
  9. They're afraid of getting torched deep. They'd rather take death by a thousand paper cuts than with one big blow.
  10. Bat breaks. Of course. Otherwise it's a solid hit and we couldn't have that now could we.
  11. Could be but, can't that come before and after the game? During the game they should have been looking to seperate his head from shoulders, hit him so hard he doesn't want that next carry. Not congratulate him after every run, letting him know how fantastic he's running. I know, I don't really like seeing this either. Especially not when they are being destroyed. I also didn't see much in the way of players being angry with themselves, although obviously we only see a fraction of what is happening.
  12. Perhaps that was some players' way of saying they didn't totally agree with how he was being treated when he was in Chicago -- even if they didn't want to speak up at the time.
  13. Please blow up Pettite tonight, Angels. Kind of funny to see 2 former Cub 1st basemen on the pre-game show.
  14. Well, they've shown when they do blitz they generally suck at it. And Lovie had a great opportunity to go to Beekman this week and declined to make that change. At this point I don't expect big changes, based on my understanding of Lovie and the talent (or lack of it) on the roster. They'll probably just ride it out, hoping for better results with what they have.
  15. That'll just about do it, barring a miracle. Now the Saints have the inside track at assuring all playoff contenders will go to the dome.
  16. That's probably true but, some blame must be put on Forte, he never looks up. There was a perfect opprotunity earlier in game, when it was still in doubt, for him to bounce it outside yet, he run's into the middle of the pile. Right, but I wasn't really talking about Forte. People seem to be lamenting the loss of Benson based on what they are seeing with him on the Bengals. But it's really sketchy to say he'd be doing that as a Bear. It's likely he wouldn't be close, and people would not feel much better about Benson than they did a couple years ago.
  17. Missed the xp, 3 point game!!
  18. Saints on the verge. Great game.
  19. Can anyone say Benson would be doing better with our OLine anyway? I can't. Look at the great blocking he's getting. I'm happy for him, but I find it likely he'd continue to struggle with the Bears if he would have stayed.
  20. Miami / NO game is fantastic, in case there's anyone who has access and doesn't want to watch bad football...
  21. How epic would it be if the Browns come to town and beat us? I'm not all that confident of beating any team at this point. I mean, I think we can win that one but now I'm not going to boast about much of anything.
  22. This is going to be a great week in Chicago. Finally we can dispense with the nonsense and talk about what this team really is -- poorly coached, aging, and losing ground rapidly to our rivals. They're finally getting the thorough plastering which has been coming for awhile now.
  23. [expletive] this [expletive] [expletive]. I'm going to go carve a [expletive] pumpkin or something.
  24. Alright if they go up by 21 I'm done with this [expletive].
  25. I thought Marinelli and Lovie were supposed to be able to fix everything without any new players.
