  1. How about Rolle shoving Finley for no reason and not getting a flag? Finlay shoved Rolle first. That was a good no call. Finlay was just fishing for a flag.
  2. Yes. I've watched little football until now because the games have been so bad. Pack driving again. What a catch by Jennings.
  3. Same result as last week, in both games. Pretty boring stuff, frankly.
  4. This is one of those games you look at down the road if the Hawks start losing games.
  5. Perhaps Huet will be able to see the puck in the shootout.
  6. Just can't be real.
  7. These types of things are one reason I decided never to become a betting man.
  8. Umm....crap?
  9. Funny how we can send a torrent of shots one night and nothing goes, then tonight relatively few shots but plenty hit the mark.
  10. Yes! I want the Bears to get Bates in some capacity. That article mentions the Tennessee OC as a candidate. I don't know much about him, but I do think I want more experience than Bates as OC. Bates as QB coach would be ideal. I wonder if Carroll tried to convince Bates come with him to Seattle, but Bates turned him down. I could live with Bates as the QB coach, and Martz as OC, with Bates becoming the OC in a couple of years. If that story is true, it likely means Carroll isn't all that confident Bates is ready to run an NFL offense.
  11. I was when Orton was here, and there was little downside to "ruining" him and they were desperate for WR help. Howeve, there is too much to lose with Cutler and a guy like TO around, and TO is just too far removed from his impact days to look past that concern. I could see Cutler & TO not liking each other very much. That's just a guess, but I think I'd pass on TO.
  12. The goal of the offseason was dealing away Milton Bradley, that happened. True.
  13. It's kind of weird having comparatively no hot stove action in Dec/Jan for the Cubs. Byrd, but other than that it's sooo quiet out there. I guess I'm not used to it.
  14. That's a stunner since he's only been there a year. He's been there longer, he's just been head coach for only one season. Still, I would have guessed Mangini would be gone, and Mora given one more year. Shows what I know :)
  15. I was thinking they'd go Expos, but if Dawson is vocal about wanting the Cubs, then I would think the HOF will allow that. It isn't like he only spent a couple uneventful years in Chicago. They were important years for his career.
  16. Your preference will come true, I just hope it the former of the two. Count me in on Sheets as well, if only to keep him from the Cards. Sheets, often injuried, out for a season - that's got Card's pixie dust all over it. If he goes to the Cards it might be Carpenter all over again.
  17. I think Forte might end up being the Bears version of Ryan Theriot. A guy that they way overvalue and think is good, so they don't want to go out and find a better option even though there are available ones. I think this season has put plenty of doubts in the coaches minds about Forte. Maybe not enough for them to want to boot him, but I don't think he'll be skating by with no one noticing his low ypc or his lack of overall speed.
  18. Kaplan is so sure he's right about everything. Except that he isn't.
  19. Yeah, but every good team needs to do that or they'll fall back. Never easy to stay near the top.
  20. The only thing I know is that game was a huge letdown early. Yes, Texas made a valiant run at it. But knowing they wouldn't have their best player just took all the excitement out of it for me. I only watched sparsely.
  21. Maybe, but is there anything more than just people speculating? I don't recall any actual accusations.
  22. Pretty much my feeling. I think they win this week and lose next week. Yeah. I'd prefer if they lose, but I also think they're going to win.
  23. Forte was an okay college back who was far from an elite prospect coming out, and he had a lot of wear getting a ton of carries on turf. Then in his rookie year he took more wear and tear than most RBs ever take, and he wasn't that good. He couldn't run the ball well in 2008 and he was worse in 2009. The line isn't any help, but he isn't any good. Straight runner, little ability to move laterally quickly, and no burst. Not much power either. He can catch the ball though. But as a runner, it wouldn't be difficult or expensive at all to find a better one. I don't see why we'd need to sacrifice much to accomplish an upgrade.
  24. That's a surprise based on what I was hearing.
  25. I heard that segment of B&B. Yes they talked about the trade, but it was made very clear that right now it's just talk. They never even suggested that it should be taken as some kind of serious thing. Just that it was heard, and it would be nice if it happened.
