  1. There's one bullpen experiment that has failed.
  2. Brennan's been all over how shaky our bullpen will be. Can we put Silva back in?
  3. Still not getting the O I'd like to see
  4. Kind of fun to watch the likes of Votto look like crap against a guy who was a walking catastrophe
  5. I love that their ad is currently some fatty chowing down on on a burger. Jesus, the guy just looks like he's in total agony too. Is he on an episode of Man v. Food or something? Who are they kidding? Wrigley seats won't hold that guy. If that's who they want at the game, they need to do something.
  6. Hopefully we are catching the Avs at a good time, as they have struggled recently.
  7. Yeah, that's true. It seems longer because of the scandal.
  8. I'm certainly excited about Randy Wells' opening performance.
  9. Thanks.
  10. ESPN.com has live streaming coverage of Amen corner, 15 & 16. Pretty good quality feed too. If you're at work like me...
  11. Just have to have faith they'll get it done and we will feel silly for having doubted them :)
  12. I had no idea. Funny.
  13. Somehow that adds a tinge more anxiety for me heading into the playoffs. I don't want to crash out such an incredible overall season. If there wasn't such a history of high seeds being upset in the first round, I wouldn't feel the same. Get it done Hawks.
  14. I'm excited. Maybe not in the same way I've been excited for other seasons. But you can't beat Cubs baseball, Summer, 70's & 80's on the thermometer. This Cub thing. It's for life. Win or lose. Good baseball or bad baseball. I'll always look forward to catching a Cub game.
  15. http://www.cnn.com/2010/OPINION/04/08/coyne.tiger.woods/index.html?hpt=C1 Good Lord enough with the hyper-melodrama over this. Tiger Woods does not owe an apology to YOUR MOM.
  16. Exactly. Leaving him as the long man is ultimately a waste of him over the course of the season if he can keep pitching anything like this. He'll face many more critical situations as the setup guy. The long man is usually being tossed out there because the starter got rocked. I'd rather have Marshall available when the game is much more winnable or they need to hold the lead. Maybe they are afraid of him being good in the setup role because it would make the decision tough if a starter falters.
  17. It would be a difficult choice for me between a Golden Girls re-run and, say, #90 vs. #56. Beyond that, it's not going to affect me. I just won't be watching, that's all. I don't particularly like the idea but imb is right in the sense that it's no skin off my back.
  18. I can go with that. There's definitely a greater degree of hysteria / hounding that happens with the Cubs than many other teams. Some guys just don't deal with it very well. Some handle it fine and wind up loving their time on the North Side. If you do bad things you become unreasonably hated. If you do good things, you become everyone's buddy. It's tough because in a way, I love being a Cub fan partially because people are so intense about it. But there's also a downside.
  19. Eh, they played a much better game last night. Dempster looked fantastic, they took a lead into the late innings. I'm choosing to look at the positives right now. It was a tough draw to have to open against the Braves in their ballpark. I think they could be a playoff team. The Cubs just need to keep this in perspective and not let it bleed over into future games. The wins will come.
