    If it means reload/develop a little this year, and then make another serious run next year, I'm OK with that. I still think we're a team to watch. Doesn't anyone think Kane/Toews are still not at their peak besides me? I think they'll be even better next year.

    Were the Magic already over the cap? Let's say they were, say, $4 million under the cap before they matched. Then they would only be paying $10 mlilion more for Redick. I believe I read they were already fully over.

    I'm going to have to see it in-season before I buy it. Hard to tell how it translates to an actual game situation Yeah, that's how I'm taking it too. Though as a Bulls fan I simply can't resist perking up when I hear him say it, even though I must be skeptical as well.

    LeBron is making what, 15 million? Well Redick is only getting 7M. It's more fun to think he's being paid like LeBron though. Somewhere Dickie V. is excitedly typing an article about how Coach K. helped JJ earn this big money deal. Redick gets 7 of it. But that's pretty insane to pay out 14m for him. Have fun watching Redick not earn the payout. BTW, did any of you hear that Rose says he feels his 3 is much futher along than he had hoped it would be? Anyone think he's not just blowing smoke? Rose with a 3 is scary.

    That's cruel. But yeah, it gave me a good chuckle. It loaded slow for me too, so I was wondering "WTF why is Huet on a cover for NHL 11?"

    well, that's gotta all but seal it that the hawks will fit under the cap and probably be able to bring back niemi. That would be great!

    I never claimed it was possible to prove. Nobody knows what Pippen would have been like if Jordan didn't exist, or if Pippen played in Seattle. Kinda sucks for Scottie. How does it suck for Scottie? He won 6 titles. He's a legend. I don't think he'd trade that in to be Jason Kidd or Dirk Nowitski. Yea, I don't care if I can't exactly quantify a hypothetical Jordan-less career for Scottie. He was a great Bull. He's a legend. That's all that matters to me.

    I'll second the notion that Jon Miller is pretty good to listen to. I'd like to be able to tune into him on ESPN without Morgan.

    Why? An old man in bad health for a decade finally died. I don't know why. He's always been there. Mostly as the guy I loved to hate in baseball. I guess it is a strange reaction to have given the situation. He hasn't been around for years. He's been in hiding because he's been failing for so long. And the announcer guy was 99 years old. I don't get how anybody could be surprised by either death. Understood. I didn't really mean I was surprised. It just made me stop for a second and I got that "feeling." Then I realized all the things you just said. In terms of the game, it will be interesting to see what, if anything, happens to the Yankees. I suspect very little, at least in the short term. But long term? Hopefully they eventually drop back down to longer term suckage.

    Well, the Cleveland fans I've spoken to tell me they knew or very strongly suspected Lebron would leave long before he did. What I'm getting from my very small sample size is that it was all about how he did it, not that he did it. I certainly can't blame him for going to Miami. It sounds like a great basketball situation for him. The "Decision" show -- the big bash in Miami? Eh, I didn't really care but I can understand someone criticizing him for that.

    Probably because the Cubs kinda suck and don't deserve 2 All Stars. So because a guy's team sucks he shouldn't be recognized? In the semi-twisted world of all star roster building? Probably, yes.

    I fully expect the Hawks to make the playoffs, easily. Fans of other teams are hoping we don't, but that doesn't make it so.

    I don't remember a ton of criticism, but I also don't remember as much overflowing love for Hammer and I am seeing now. I'm glad we matched; you guys know more about Hockey than I do so I'll defer to your happiness :) See ya Niemi, it was a fun FUN ride.

    Well I would too...but that doesn't mean they won't still suck. If it was 5.1, I'd have a harder time betting higher. Sure, but 5.1 isn't 3.1

    If it really was the choice, I guess I'd choose to leave Wrigley behind and win the WS. But I look at recent years; we've had our shots. '03, '08 -- these were legitimate contending ballclubs, IMO. It just didn't work out. But it showed to me that the Cubs are perfectly capable in current conditions of contending. I don't think a shiny new ballpark is going to make us more a contender. I actually wouldn't mind seeing it at some point, though.
