  1. Wow. I must say, this Bears team has had its share of breaks.
  2. I really wasn't all that interested in Boise State. I understand the excitement but I just never really latched on to it. Doesn't bother me at all that they lost. I'm kind of surprised that they did -- but I'm not upset by it.
  3. Great! Unfortunately I drove out of radio range before the comeback though :( This year's results on the circus trip are very encouraging.
  4. I think the main reason is promos. First off, radio broadcasts suck since they spend a good 30% of the time presenting you the subway 3rd down of the game followed by a Meineke sack and a KMart punt. At the same time, TV broadcasters promote shows coming up on Fox/CBS, and that is why they pay so much money for the rights to the games. If it were to be done, the networks would demand that customers pay a huge fee for the right, to discourage widespread distribution and offset potential ad decreases. That sounds right. Although.......for the amount of money we fork out for NFLST, one would think it buys a little leeway on that type of thing. The networks would rather everybody just watch the one game broadcasted in their area. They don't want you flipping channels. Obviously. That's why we pay big bucks.....to override their wishes :)
  5. I'm not surprised, or dismayed, that they couldn't beat LA on their home turf with Boozer out and still early in the season. From what I saw they actually seemed to hang nicely with the Lakers. As for Rose being the Bulls -- OK. That's the NBA.
  6. Ahh, to be a young man and the toast of the town. Enjoy the fun while it lasts, boys.

  8. My dream is for NFL Sunday ticket to offer each broadcast with the radio announcers call rather than the network sound. I realize that will never happen for a number of reasons, but it'd be great to have local announcers to listen to. That'd be awesome. There are secondary audio channels that mostly go unused. Might be nice to see radio teams broadcast on the secondary channel. I'm sure this has been thought of though, and for whatever reason it isn't done.
  9. I'd settle for a Chucky replacement.
  10. Soo tempting as a prospect. But the potential to get really burned, if taken too high, looms.
  11. I love Mallett's potential, but I would also say Luck.
  12. That's been a big problem with him in the past. Maybe he's ready to regress for us :) That would be nice! :good:
  13. Childress isn't why the Vikings struggled. They might get a bounce with the coaching change, but that will fade over the next three weeks' worth of games before Chicago arrives. Leslie isn't going to bring Moss back, and he isn't going to make Favre change his stripes. I'm not conceding that game until we see how the next three week's shake out. I'm not conceding any game, but understood.
  14. Unfortunately this gives the Vikings time to re-tool a bit and be playing much better football just in time for the Bears to roll into town on the 20th :(
  15. If it comes down to the offense needing to score big points against the Eagles, we'll lose. To me it's all about stiffening up near the goal line and forcing FGs rather than TDs. We can give up yards, but not TDs. We probably will give up yards. That and, of course, turnovers.
  16. I don't know, Atlanta is being annointed top team now? I understand they're a talented football team with a good shot at the Super Bowl, but I'm still waiting to see if they can follow through on all this. I feel more comfortable saying NE is the best team than anyone. I realize they've been fighting through some things this year, but the pedigree of success is still intact and they've been posting wins that seem pretty solid to me.
  17. Such is life in the NFL. The highs are high, and the lows? Very low.
  18. I'm sure we will but why do people read Peter King in the first place? He does produce a nice, lengthy summary of the weekend's action on Monday Morning, and it's on a very visible website. I don't have any context for King's guarantee of a Packers' loss (I actually don't read him :)), but obviously the Packers could beat any team right now, so guaranteeing that they lose is pretty silly.
  19. Greg Olsen has been a better blocker than Manu this year. Problem with that is Olsen is actually a decent receiver too and can't do both at the same time. I honestly think Manumaleuna could get cut this offseason, he's been that bad. I think he should. There is no reason to keep an expensive blocking tight end on the roster when he doesn't block at an elite level. He never should have been signed, or praised as a great signing, in the first place. Agreed.
  20. The Packer fans around here are even worse than Bear fans for self-flagellation. Guys. Your team is going to sail into the playoffs.
  21. My goodness. He threw that 65 yards without even setting his feet
  22. Is U2 still on tour? Aerosmith would do 8-) Time to call in the star power.
  23. The stadium is about half filled. You think the people who left are pissed? If you were the guy who said "come on let's get out of here" And then the family is listening to that comeback on the radio? LOL, yeah. That's when you ask someone else to drive and crawl down in between the seat and the floorboard.
  24. That's the kind of thing that ends a coach's tenure with the team, I would think.
  25. Siciliano a few minutes ago on Texans/Jets: "It's not over yet but it might as well be." Oh no, not over yet. Not over yet at all.
