  1. How in the hell do you keep your job after that SO call?
  2. Total offensive outage. These pitchers are not good. Brewers absolutely feasted on this staff. The Cubs could do half as good and sweep.
  3. Screw that. I’m a big Brewers fan today. A restaurant down the street is giving away burgers if they win today. Their burgers are no joke.
  4. See that’s the special sauce Cubs PTSD, for which there is no effective therapy.
  5. 15-27 the rest of the way? Unlikely. That’s playing at White Sox level for a month and a half. But, never say never. There are different ways to frame it. For example, it’s basically losing 2 of every 3 game series….which is what we’ve been doing recently.
  6. I guess we all have that moment that sets the standard for misery. Mine is 1984, that grounder going through Leon Durham’s legs. On that day, I learned this was not a nice world.
  7. Come on boys. We paid dearly for that runner. Let’s bring him home.
  8. Gotta take the small steps with Tuck right now. That’s a HR in some cases.
  9. Got back from the Brewers game. They are great. That is all. Seriously though, it’s uncanny how they just get whatever they need in that moment. I’m looking at the stats of these guys as they come to bat and it’s nothing special. But collectively they just get it done. I don’t think they hit a HR today? 12 runs. Just getting guys on, moving them over, cashing in. I know it’s the f’n Pirates but they are doing this to everyone.
  10. I’ll be at the Brewers/Pirates game tomorrow. I’ll be sure to report back here exactly what the horsefeathers is happening. Answers forthcoming.
  11. It’s a strange thing to me. PCA’s hitting was already known by the league. It’s not like he was fresh up from Iowa and nobody knew his weaknesses. For about 2 months he managed to overcome them.
  12. Take heart. We could be the Yankees. I'm sure Boston fans have the Bellinger "throw" on repeat today. Yikes.
  13. If Tucker's finger is really the thing causing him to go from great to not-so-great, why not just rest him. He's not doing any good at the plate right now. We need him to be there in September in a big way. It just doesn't make sense to me. Maybe something else is going on in addition to the finger, I don't know. I just know this isn't who he is as a hitter.
  14. 100% agree on Bagent. Love his approach to football but the NFL level ability isn't there. At least Keenum has starter experience, 2 seasons of 3,000+ yards, a career positive TD/INT ratio and a career 60+% completion percentage. He's the guy you want filling in.
  15. Not too long ago the Cubs were 6 games up in the division. The Cubs are 4.5 up in the WC. I think we’re at a crossroads right now. The team is clearly pressing at the plate. They could either right the ship and at least play well enough to make the playoffs. But it’s also possible they just tank out and fade away. They have the day off today before a tough series. It’s time for these guys to figure out what they were doing right before and get back to that.
  16. Hopefully the Brewers collapse happens in the playoffs like usual.
