  1. Bregman doesn’t make any sense. He’s very consistently been well above the average as a hitter and he’s just a guy now, almost 3 months in. Yeah he’s changed leagues and I expected an adjustment period but not this long. I don’t know how we can expect Jed to know this would happen. He put up a 130 OPS+ last season and he’s at 99 as of now. That 130 was his 4th best in a 10 year career. He SHOULD be producing. Whether you liked the signing or not it’s pretty bizarre how this has turned out.
  2. But an understandable, if not entirely sane, reaction from a fan standpoint. To call the Cubs a MASH unit would be an understatement. Is there a point where it’s no longer just random? I don’t know. But man it’s so horsefeathers frustrating.
  3. Good. Father’s Day without stupid sports stress. I’m hanging out with my dog. Life is good.
  4. I don’t know man, I remember every bit of that 10 game losing streak. Then again I tend to ruminate a lot. Today is just indicative of why we are 3 over .500 and not 15 over. It’s not really a complete team. Too many moves didn’t work. Too many injuries. We get the offense humming a little then blow a good lead late. This is who they are.
  5. Battle of the bad. Need to keep the hot bats hot. Going to take north of 5 runs to win this one.
  6. I tried to find one for a Bears game once and there were so many sketchy VPNs to install I finally said it wasn't worth it.
  7. Never to be forgotten in Chicago.
  8. Exactly. And like 10 seconds before I saw your post.
  9. Classic strategy: start a guy who nobody knows. Even if he sucks it’s gonna take a couple ABs to figure it out.
  10. I heard Caleb threw a ball 75 yards in the air while sitting on the crapper. Definitely losing interest in the Cubs this year.
  11. Clearly, a strike. The fact that he challenged it just shows he’s not seeing the zone.
  12. I wasn’t sure what to expect with Cabrera but I sure didn’t expect this.
  13. There was this moment, I think 10 years ago give or take a few months… Yes, long ago I experienced Cubs joy.
  14. I like that AB from Swanson. Pitcher was likely hoping a frustrated hitter would swing at crap.
  15. I find it somewhat comforting that there are people who think Jed’s OK but I’d like to see someone new. It’s a rough division to be in. At the end of the day I can’t see Jed Hoyer building a champion like Theo did. Not a very data-driven opinion.
  16. As someone who identifies with the “long suffering fan” moniker, I’m happy for Knicks fans.
