    NFL Week 10

    Yeah. Isn't it great?
  2. That's pretty big, but I still think the Cody injury is bigger. Texans will still use their other TEs. Bears prepared for Daniels. Hopefully they don't change their gameplan last minute. Houston sure isn't going to. I don't see how it matters if the Bears prepared for Daniels. He's better than their other TE, so that's all good. Bad weather has to benefit the Bears. Windy conditions surely benefit our kicking game, big time. Gould is the best at this type of situation.
  3. His writing is meant to be fun and not taken at all as serious analysis... When does the fun part happen? I like him. To each his own. The Book of Basketball was very good despite having to sift through all the Celtics love. He's a Celtics/Boston fan. Explains much.
  4. Daniels, Cody apparently out. Huge help for the Bears. Link: http://www.csnchicago.com/football-chicago-bears/bears-talk/Sick-bay-Texans-NT-Cody-TE-Daniels-out?blockID=799979&feedID=10330&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed The loss of Daniels is pretty big.
  5. Yeah well Bear fans ought to know better this year, given what happened last year when we were riding high. I'm sure there's plenty of Bear fan blustering going on, but I'm pretty cautious and every other Bear fan I know is the same.
  6. That and him figuring out the whole being a decent WR thing Yeah yeah, I know I know. He's not a WR, blah blah. Except that's the position he's playing, and occasionally he does catch a long TD. It doesn't happen as often as it should, but it happens, and with Alshon out and Marshall likely to be double covered by a good defense, this would be a great week for it. Yeah, I was being a bit facetious. I know all it takes is one deep ball to change a game with Hester, but I just hate him as a WR. Not having Alshon and/or a decent 2nd WR option is killing the Bears right now and playing against two good defenses the next two games is/will likely really hurt them. Hopefully they can get creative with Forte and get him the ball in space a lot. Marshall is so good that even if he's double teamed I still expect Jay to get him the ball 7+ times, Jay's ability to not give a [expletive] about throwing a ball into coverage and Marshall's skill is too much to completely shut him down. I wouldn't say not having Jeffery is "killing" a Bears team that has not lost a game without him and scored 37ppoints without him last week. Yeah, it's just too much for me to think of Alshon as that important. Not yet, anyway. I'd rather not look past the obvious OLine flaws to find reasons why we've struggled. Fix the pass protection issues and then let's see how many of these other problems are actually problems. Personally I think Bennett is filling in just fine. Jay's going to target Marshall more often even with Alshon Jeffrey in the mix. He just feels most comfortable that Brandon is the guy who will pull the ball down, covered or not.
  7. Huh, I thought she was indeed due Sunday. Wasn't that what brought the issue up in the first place?
  8. Definitely have to do something early to keep the pressure off. Carimi and Webb are gonna be in for a long day. HOU ranks dead last in ST in the DVOA's. I highly recommend a couple Hester return TDs, and another blocked punt. That'll take some pressure off everything :)
  9. Must be a slow news week in the NFL for this to become a debate in the national sports media.
  10. That Giants game back in 2010 sticks out. We gave up a lot of yards to Ahmad Bradshaw, on 20+ carries. Jacobs added in a few more carries for good yardage. We've given up big yardage to teams, but looking back, some of them were due to a really long single run.
  11. Can't they give her some kind of drug to keep it in? Come on now. Priorities people.

    NFL Week 10

    KC/PIT on Monday night. Ugh.
  14. I'm going to go: Bears 24 Texans 20 I think the Bears' D limits the Texans offense just enough. They hit the end zone a couple times. Bears get just enough O and other points to get it done at home. Close, entertaining game all the way through. Prepare for a long night Sunday. You aren't going to bed early.

    NFL Week 9

Agreed but it'd be downright scary to know we'd be playing GB, NYG or SF in the 2nd round Bears will need to go through one of those teams regardless. So....which one would you prefer? I vote SF :)
  16. Weird...thats the same thing he said last week. Guess a 31 point drubbing didn't affect his views. Well than what about the Bears having the best point differential in the lead? How about 5 of the Bears 7 wins being by 16 points or more (most in the NFL)? Simmons is just like any other analyst in that he stereotypes NFL teams, and those stereotypes are likely influenced by one or two particular games. For whatever reason the Lions and Panthers games have stuck in his head and have now defined the Bears in his mind. I understand that its nearly impossible for someone to have their finger on the pulse of all 32 teams at once, but at least do a little research before you go on the air. Maybe Barnwell can tell him whats up since Bill seems to get most of his NFL insights from him. I am pretty pessimistic when it comes to my teams and their chances, but it still pisses me off when the national media disrespects them for annoying reasons like this. Like you said, they have had more blowouts than seemingly every other team in the league, and yet, when the panthers keep it close against them it goes back to "well see the bears aren't that good." Never mind the fact that the Panthers have lost every game but 1 by less than a touchdown. And the teams that get tons of respect like the giants are seemingly in a close game every other week, but the bears are disrespected by being in a close game at the half with the Jags when they ended up winning by nearly 40. I find it annoying that guys like Simmons are allowed to maintain their illusion of being experts, despite not having much knowledge. But, the reality is, his impact is non-existent. Nobody who really knows anything allows something like that to pass unchecked. I wish he didn't get to pull down a salary for it, but it's not really any skin off my back.
  17. 3, and everyone goes oooh, ahh. oh, and then we win anyway.

    NFL Week 9

Being an Eagle fan has got to be horrible right now.
  19. Biggs' thoughts after yesterday's game: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-biggs-10-thoughts-bears-20121105,0,1852191.story Izzy won't miss time, that's good. Hardin is 100% physically even though he can't play this year. Lots of S/Ts talk, with Toub's strategy & methods at the core. Interesting stuff. Jay saying that Tice needs to learn how to call the screen better -- in that not-so-thinly-disguised Jay way.
  20. Nooo. I want him to pick against the Bears again.

    NFL Week 9

They are already a nice story, I could see that continuing. We'll see.
  22. Yeah....I think it's going to be up to Tice to create a solid "we're getting blown up and cutler has no time to throw" game plan to turn to when we get blown up and cutler has no time to throw. He was talking about their O-line vs our D-line. I'm more concerned about the reverse. If Houston blows holes in our defensive line consistently, I'll congratulate them. I'm not conceeding that until I actually see it happen.
  23. Looks like Bud Adams has had enough: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2012/11/04/titans-bud-adams-disgusted-after-bears-loss/1681947/ There's a quote in there from Sen'Derrick Marks about it feeling like an away game and it was the worst experience he's ever had. That was a trouncing on all levels. Even Bear fans trounced the Titan fans.
