  1. The NFC is full of suspect teams. Of course Seattle deserves to be there. Sleep it off gooney :) :)
  2. How do you award a Stanley Cup with a straight face?
  3. I'm counting on you, SEA vs. WAS. If you are as boring as what we've seen, this will rank as one of the worst wild card weekends ever, if not the worst.
  4. Knitting is more exciting
  5. The Jets couldn't even figure out how to get Tebow on the field in a meaningful capacity. McCoy won with him as a starter. Think about that. Tebow could easily have blown a lot of those great Denver defensive efforts with a worse coach/scheme.
  6. It was going to be 15-13 and a decent, if less-than-thrilling, game. Then boom, missed FG and like 2 plays later. 22-10 and back to blowout. Klein is a mess. He's playing like a crappy B1G backup QB.
  7. [expletive] you, K-State. I was looking forward to a good football game tonight.
  8. I'm with davell -- there seems to be a solid group of candidates. Either Emery is just fortunate, or he's pretty good at this. Maybe a little of both.
  9. And then made Thomas a top 5 wr this year after a lost year of development. Id love him with a realky athletic TE and Jeffery. Not to mention a better pass catching Rb than McGahee. I think there's only one man responsible for making Thomas a top 5 WR, and his name is not McCoy. FWIW, Manning gives McCoy plenty of credit for their success in Denver.
  10. I try to pull for Illinois, but it's like dragging a 150lb weight around.
  11. I'm highly valuing that flexibility. We've had such rigid, unimaginative coaches in the past, imo, and that ability to make the most out of what you have is important to me. I love what Clements has done, but also, he has a lot of talent, so I have questions about what he'd do to make this offense work. But I do like him as well, and would be thrilled if he was hired. I'd be happy with McCoy too. Clements made Flynn look like Dan Marino. Man, that's got to be good enough :)
  12. Come on, 58 isn't that old. The lure of Clements' success with Favre and Rodgers is too strong -- he's my top choice.
  13. Florida just laid one heck of an egg.
  14. Most of that has to be Bears fans freaking out because this Packer team isn't really that good (they won 11 games so obviously they are good but they aren't Super Bowl good). They might not be really good, but there's not a slam-dunk team in the NFC, IMO. They could have a really good game and beat any of the others in the field.
  15. So, worst case scenario is to interview him, we may have to wait out Green Bay's playoff run, right? If that IS the case, would we be willing to do that? i hope so. i don't see the urgency, really. If he's a serious candidate, of course they will wait for GB's exit.
  16. After thinking about it, I would be on board for Gruden if Emery wants to try his hand at a more established name.
  17. LOL @ the Cowher pic. Does that look like a guy who is ready to come out of retirement?
  18. He had a ton to do with everything last year. He minimized the bad and maximized the good with Tebow, then adjusted to allow the Peyton show to flourish. Not a bad couple years of work.
  19. Lovie will land softly, maybe even HC with one of the other teams. If not, he'll do well as DC and then probably get another HC shot at some point. It's just an emotional day for everyone @ Halas Hall. It will pass. Lovie was way better than most of the bozos the Bears hire as HC. Just not quite good enough.
  20. Gee Devin, maybe you shouldn't have sucked a crap ton then.
  21. Clayton said a lot of weird things. Yeah I'm a few minutes behind. Right now he's talking about how the Bears should agressively go after Andy Reid and pay him what he wants. Yeah, wtf. PASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Seriously.
  22. That's bizarre Why, isn't that just a last chance for Lovie & coaches to talk with the team?
  23. yes. I'm pleasantly surprised, similar to after the Marshall trade. But then the rest of the offseason happened and the draft, which negated much of that optimism. Hope this works out better. I'm going to remain optimistic for now. Last year Emery addressed WR, which needed it badly. This year, hopefully he will turn his attention to OL.
  24. And that's a good thing? vs. Phillips and ownership having their way? Yes, it'd be hard for it to be a bad thing. We knew he was running the show already. The tired talk of the McCaskeys handcuffing people has been meaningless fan babbling. It's still good to see an immediate, decisive move.
