  1. They certainly don't hurt.
  2. I have an inkling you might be right. That may not be their primary motivation, but it's definitely one of the deciding factors. Also, reports are that A-Rod is going to dig in his heels and not accept any sort of plea deal, and will appeal any suspension. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2013/07/23/alex-rodriguez-biogenesis-mlb-negotiations-suspension/2579977/ The standoff begins. LOL, good luck with that ARod.
  3. It's just a reaction of outrage more than anything else. Hopefully he found a better job afterwards. One where Braun isn't around.
  4. Nope. Come Spring '14, Braunie is back, better than ever, as if nothing ever happened. ....well, hopefully not better than ever.
  5. Oh goodness, yes. Never, ever, ever gonna happen, of course. Which was implied. We'll be waiting for a long time. Glad the hammer came down, but losing the rest of a meaningless season is not even really a punishment.
  6. The truth has not changed. Indeed.
  7. My god, even his statement of contrition makes me want to punch him in the face. "As I have acknowledged in the past..." Buh? In the past, you denied any wrongdoing, you [expletive] dolt!
  8. Woah. Are they aware Dalton is their QB? Bengals are a trendy pick this year. Dalton/Green in their 3rd year (year everyone thinks players take off, but it's not necessarily true). Really good defensive line. Pretty decent secondary. LBs are solid. A lot of people feel that Eifert will be a great #2 receiving threat to Green. They've been on the cusp of playoff wins each of the last 2 seasons. It makes sense. Patriots may be without their top 4 targets from last year. GB lost Jennings and Driver. I wouldn't have them that high, but I can see a worthwhile argument being made. Yeah, if all the picks just fall into everyone's expectations, then there's no point reading it anyway. Somewhere along the line someone needs to step out a bit.
  9. LOL, that's incredible on a few levels.
  10. Michael and Emery? Emery was the one who was most vocal about theoretically bringing him back but essentially letting him know he should retire. And everybody hates Michael. Actually, he probably hates Ted. Urlacher respects football people and hates non-blonde celebrity civilians. He's got to hate the pencil pushing team president. It's got to be whoever he blames for Lovie's dismissal. Dammit, now I really want to know.
  11. There's plenty of reason for people to be optimistic. Nothing crazy about that. I have very big doubts, but remain hopeful he can get the job done. Yes -- when gambles like this pay off, it's a lot of fun. Especially since it would be the Bears turning to the offensive side of the ball for success. It's just a feast or famine situation. In some ways, I've been hoping the Bears would do something out of the ordinary. Not sure Trestman was what I was hoping for, but if he's the guy to overturn decades of Bears defense-only football and usher the franchise into the new NFL once and for all.....I'll take it.
  12. I think that is insane. If Trestman is a disaster, this team is going to fall apart in a hurry. They were held together by a defense that relied heavily on a system that is no longer being run by the people who implemented and ran the system. And all its best players are old. This team could be drafting at the top within a year or two if Trestman is a disaster. And a CFL coach who hasn't been in the league for a decade and is a weirdo has greater than a 0% chance of being a disaster. Trestman doesn't strike me as the kind of coach who can weather a disastrous start. He'll go down quick if the Bears are a trainwreck this year. What makes you think that? A lot of the same things jersey said. CFL coach, kind of an egghead. There's not a lot of the traditional NFL cache' to draw on to weather an early storm.

  14. *yaaaawn* is it braun suspension time yet?
  15. Factorback. Hehe, I forgot about that. Terrible, meaningless junk.
  16. That may be, but it seems like he's been "expected to be traded before his next outing" for the last two outings.
  17. Just batting practice tonight, nothing more.
  18. Yeah, off the bat the crowd thought so too.
  19. Everything is now flowers and candy and other good things.
  20. Why is it a big deal that the Cards would keep their 100 MPH fireballer in the game?
  21. We should get a tax write-off from all this charity.
