  1. I can't find a reason to give Emery the benefit of the doubt. I don't think he deserves it at this point. OK, don't give him the benefit of the doubt then.
  2. Eh, that's pretty thin kujay. "Conventional" coaching hires have yielded scads of utter failures, too. I want to make it clear, though: I'm not "backing" Trestman.
  3. If you can guarantee the one you choose will be the winner, then I'll let you pick my next big investment too :)
  4. What are you saying, that one or more of these candidates is guaranteed success? Because that's how it reads to me. How can you say that?
  5. Which ones are far more qualified? He's been an OC and QB coach in the NFL, has a ton of experience working with QBs (including Cutler), and has HC (in another league, yes) experience. Any of the guys with several years of NFL success and innovation as coordinators. Do you think Trestman is hanging out in Canada by choice? He might be. Maybe he was told in previous interviews he needed to prove he could be a head coach and didn't want to go back to the collegiate level and deal with recruiting crap to do it. Just a thought. Yeah I suppose that's possible. Unlikely but possible. Just saw a tweet that the last CFL coach to land an NFL head coaching job was Marv Levy. Didn't know that. Anyway, more likely Trestman ran out of suitable options in the NFL. I don't mind a high risk/high reward move. Problem is at this point we have no idea what the reward might be. We have no idea of knowing what the reward might be with ANY of the candidates.
  6. Special teams. Why would he leave for another STC position voluntarily? I presume he is still vulnerable if the new HC wants someone different, although it seems like an easy choice to just keep him on provided he wants to stick around.
  7. This weekend couldn't have worked out better for the Bears. No more waiting necessary. I expect things will start moving quickly come Monday morning.
  8. I know it's probably over anyway, but this is terribly lazy for a team needing 18 points in the 4th quarter.
  9. Not sure which game I am more surprised by, but it all works out pretty good for a Bear fan.
  10. Look at the total yards disparity. Lordy.
  11. If that's the kind of defense the 49ers are planning on playing, then welcome to yet another team with a bye being dismissed from the playoffs.
  12. Another team with a bye bites the dust. Not the advantage it used to be.
  13. Oh my god, Broncos could actually lose this thing!
  14. He's definitely forgiven, today.
  15. You know, Flacco really is just an airhead.
  16. Wow, what a dumb throw by Kaepernick.
  17. Yeah, kind of a lame throw by Manning, and he just somehow got to it.
  18. They lost the toss, so it could happen. Why acquire Peyton Manning if you aren't going to try to use him to win games in critical situations like that?
  19. What the [expletive]? Taking a knee with 2 timeouts left?!?
  20. Holy living crapolia.
  21. It's only one game, but I'm not all that impressed with the Broncos' offense today. They're driving now, though.
  22. Well.....two big players on that defense nursing injuries, though. I hope you are right. They need pressure on Rodgers today. All the time. No letup.
  23. Gannon's comment sounds like the bare minimum for an NFL OC in today's NFL.
  24. The point is, it isn't a terribly inspiring speech.
