  1. Welcome to the Andy Dalton experience
  2. Can enjoy it for a couple hours.
  3. It’s a lot of fun to think that Fields is just too good for a coaching staff to hold him back. So I’m just gonna go with it.
  4. Bwahahah
  5. Graham Mertz was absolutely brutal in that game. Felt like every single red zone pass was into triple coverage. But obviously PSU defense gets some credit for making him look bad too. Let's hope they look past my Ball State Cardinals next week. Sean Clifford was ass as well. Overthrew three wide open receivers for easy touchdowns. The problems with Mertz aren’t often solvable. He’s late with his throws and doesn’t seem to have the strength to zip it deep out. Noodle arm + slow brain? Those are lifelong traits. Someone thought he was a top prospect. That person(s) was wrong. We’re in trouble. Penn State? Dunno, I doubt there will be free running receivers deep all year long. Without that they lose to a team actively laying a crap in their home opener.
  6. Part of me is actually looking forward to watching some new players out there. All of me is wanting to see that.
  7. The only positive is that it turned the decisions to be made black/white and no longer a grey area. It’s sell time. Bring up the kids to get experience and get rid of Arrietta, Sogard and Heyward (if you can) Call ‘em an Uber.
  8. Let’s move all Cubs content to the Other Sports forum.
  9. I think Contreras is the only player on this team I really think will be worth an extension but you're not extending a 29 year old catcher when you have Miguel Amaya in the wings and starting a rebuild. Yeah, it’s time to bring this whole thing to the ground and re-set. I’d love it if the team was sold, actually. I’m so done with this now. Thanks for the memories…
  10. It’s OK, they tank out by July instead of September. I consider that a plus.
  11. 10 in the 8th, that’s a fat finger right?
  12. The problem with all that optimistic schedule stuff that was earlier in this post is if they don't get their horsefeathers together in like the next 2 weeks, it won't matter because Ricketts is begging to sell, and frankly I think Jed would like to as well if he gets an excuse. Also, even the crappiest teams have a good week or two. Catch them at the wrong time and the Cubs won't necessarily win as many of those games as they should. The opposite is also true.
  13. Love it.
  14. Right now they literally have 5 kids on a widescreen in the booth and they’re commenting on their antics. And it’s more interesting than the game.
  15. Maybe he should retire as a Cub. Today.
  16. I was there, sigh. It was great to be at Wrigley again, even though there was only one MLB team there and it wasn’t the Cubs.
  17. Most interesting thing about his ball game is seeing how big the beer cup snakes can get.
  18. LOL I’ve never met anyone that weird about it. I guess I would roll with it: I’m from just outside Chicago, not within the city limits. …and yes I put ketchup on my hot dogs. Also mayo is way better with fries than ketchup.
  19. Smokies can probably catch the ball better than this. What does regression to the mean look like for this club? Right now I feel like it’s 10 under.
  20. What a horsefeathering joke.
  21. I think Jenkins was one of the most predicted picks for the Bears at #20 across all the mocks. It sucks giving up all these picks but it’s very clear what the Bears’ priority is, and it’s the right priority.
  22. Don't get too used to it. Won't happen next year. Ahh yeah, you're right. If Fields is as good as I think he will be, I'll feel OK about things after day 1 next year.
  23. Yeah, he's a perfect fit. Ballhawking off-man/zone corner with good instincts and obviously bloodlines. Also seems like a guy that would perform well with the talent that would surround him on this defense vs. what he had with a bunch of underachievers at FSU. But I'm a big proponent of after taking a QB early, you either protect him or give him a target with the next pick. I know it's a simplistic mentality but I'm just wanting them to take the top OT on the board.
  24. I could get used to this waking up after day 1 of the draft feeling really good.
