  1. No affliction, just bad through and through. Glennon never looked like this and they kept dropping him back to get clobbered. No thought given to this kind of scheme with quick throws. He’s decent at it. Nay, not buying the standard explanation anymore. Bears can’t coach QB, can’t scheme QB. It’s not the entire problem, but a significant part of it. That said, at the moment it looks much better in terms of scheming to Mitch’s strengths. Maybe this is where we finally take a serviceable guy and give him a shot to hang in the league. what isn't there to buy? what the hell are you talking about? the bears have had lots of bad quarterbacks. it's the bad quarterbacks and the difficulty in finding good ones. the coaches they bring in don't suddenly forget how to coach quarterbacks. they have had plenty of guys who would have (and have) coached the position just fine. it's the players and an often underwhelming commitment to spinning the wheel in hopes of drafting/finding one. mike glennon hasn't done anything spectacular today, and believe it or not, the bears did complete some passes and even score touchdowns when mike glennon played. in fact, he almost helped them upset the defending nfc champion falcons in week one that year. You seem to be arguing Bears coaching is just fine offensively. Not a position I’d plant my flag on, but OK.
  2. God.
  3. glennon looked fine at times on the bears too there isn't some magical affliction that gets coaches and quarterbacks to suddenly forget how to do their jobs here. bad quarterbacks are easy to find. good ones are hard to find. the bears have had lots of bad ones, and mike glennon is one of them. 4. Maybe but it would be good to see how his play is affected if the Bears managed to get within 5 feet of him Yeah I’m watching the line and not seeing anyone come off a one-on-one block on pass plays. JAX has a good plan with the quick throws but still, I expect way more and it’s not happening.
  5. Glennon today just further proves to me that a sizable part of our QB woes over the years is horrible coaching. Whether it’s terrible scheming, poor OLine play, whatever the case may be, Glennon isn’t a different guy. He just sucked horribly with the Bears but looks serviceable on a 1-13 team.
  6. No pressure
  7. Man, I hate PI calls like that. Zero chance of a completion.
  8. He said he knew the coverage and thought he saw it developing right, but just threw it blind. I’ve got a buddy in FL who was just wanting to see solid performances this year building towards next year. It’s been an unexpectedly fun year for them. Plus, with the Pats a shell of their former selves suddenly that division is more fun as a whole.
  9. Would be fun to show that to Steve Smith, who acted like the entire sports world was going to drown in a pool of depression that CHI might get in over AZ.
  10. This is going to sound so negative but it would be so Bears to stink it up tomorrow. I’m just going to wait for the results of that game first. It’s a tough game for AZ next week though, more so if Murray is hampered in some way.
  11. Murray was hurt on that last play too. Certainly an interesting turn of events.
  12. Outside the Bears game, the Bucs have only lost to good teams. They play the Lions and Falcons. AZ could lose 2. That’s a bad PHI team and it was nip n tuck. Is it possible the Pack has nothing to play for the final week?
  13. OSU played 6 games. Ridiculous. Beyond ridiculous. Didn’t even look that good against Northwestern either.
  14. I was going to say it’s already over but looks like the Eagles are at least going to put up a fight.
  15. Unreal, but that has to be it.
  16. Well they’ll need to keep scoring if they want to win because the D stayed back in Chicago.
  17. [expletive] flag. I wouldn’t expect that to be called in my favor either. Refs just shouldn’t inject themselves into good tough play like that.
  18. Hell yeah. Howdy there, run game. Been awhile...
  19. It’s Cook, he’s pretty awesome but that just won’t cut it.
  20. Yikes that was easy.
  21. I’d love to have an elite guy too but I find it more likely we would just draft the next Mitch if it’s Pace making the call. I think the better outcome is taking a shot at an elite guy with the next regime. I don’t disagree with your Mitch analysis. I see some teams like Buffalo get into a pretty good position with a Mitch type guy though. I don’t think Goff or Mayfield do the Rodgers thing either but those teams got themselves to a good place without it.
  22. Kind of sounds right. If so then I'm not going to worry so much about finishing horribly so we can draft super high to get a franchise QB, when most of the franchise QBs don't come from there. Besides, we've picked high QBs before too and they didn't magically result in SBs.
  23. Pretty sure Allen was on his way out, now he’s good. Is it really Mitch or do we just not know how to make him successful?
  24. Most of the time I don’t even notice the names of people on the special-teams unit. But today Woods has been in on several nice kick coverage plays.
  25. Texans defense is a pile of crap, but how come I haven’t seen Robinson do that nifty slip maneuver all year? And Mitch throwing where the pressure is coming from? ...and play calls that make sense?
