  1. Anyone who watched yesterday's game understands how badly Mark Prior and Kerry Wood have let this organization down.
  2. These are priceless. Thanks for sharing.
  3. I'm not an expert either but I've read that roids make your muscles grow too quickly for your connective tissues such as tendons and ligaments. If you build up naturally those tissues are supposed to toughen up as your muscles grow. I think there might be a good deal of misperception out there, because I always thought it was when you stopped taking them that injuries were more prevalent. Then again, it might just be a case where each athlete reacts differently.
  4. Sorry, no such luck. The Astros have one more starter that has shown he is capable of being decent, Backe. If Pettite keeps pitching like this and Oswalt and Backe have to carry the load, and if they continue to average 1/2 a run a game, the Astros are in biiiiiig trouble. :D I *think* Oswalt can handle the load, but I'm not sure Backe will be able to continue at a high level all season long if he has to pitch with a tired bullpen every time out. That's alot of pressure on a youngun. Please God, grant us an entire season of Pettite suckage. One time! 8)
  5. There are plenty of legitimate things to gripe on Dusty for. I'm not going to start parsing his every phrase.
  6. Can we see Pettite get slaughtered again tomorrow? Oh pretty please? With sugar on top? 8)
  7. Mwahahahah!! Pettite gets SHELLACKED by the fishies!
  8. But if a SS throws the ball in the dirt on the back half of a DP and the 1B can't pick it, the SS doesn't get an error, right? How is that different than the 1B dropping it? Official scorer's discretion. Had it been an extremely close play, there probably would have been no error because you cannot assume the DP. However, if it's not a close play, it's the same as any other play where a fielder throws to him. If he drops it when, in the scorer's opinion, the out would definitely have been recorded, it is an error. OK so then did Stats Inc. change their ruling to come in line with the official scorer? Or is there a disparity?
  9. No, I don't think rubbing steroid cream on himself resulted in 73 bombs. I believe that his use of human growth hormone, cow steroids, and all kinds of other PEDs obtained through his BALCO-linked trainer Greg Anderson resulted in it, and also in his being walked a billion times since. but this is the part he has not admitted to...so if we use the previous theory we can not say we know he did this. i will also be the first to say i am positive he did all of this...and i am doubly sure about hgh because steroids do not make your head grow...growth hormone does. also to defend barry a little, he has not pulled a giambi and wasted away to nothing, he is still very big and very strong..obvioulsy he did put in a lot of work in addition to taking enhancers. the real shame is that we will never, ever know for sure how much was barry and how much was additives! People go to the gas chamber without anyone knowing for sure that they did it. We don't need to know for sure. All we need is to know beyond a reasonable doubt. And we do.
  10. It's so early on Murton, so I try to rein in my enthusiasm, but he just seems to have everything right. His approach at the plate is excellent. He seems to really study the game and work to improve. He looks like he has been working out to improve his power. I must say I'm very impressed with him right now. He could be a true Godsend for this team, bringing us from one of the worst outfields in baseball to average/passable. Please keep going as you are, Murt 8)
  11. I can understand analyzing this from a baseball strategy standpoint, and coming to the conclusion that Dusty's moves weren't the best or didn't fit the situation. But given the lead we had it's going a bit too far to crucify Dusty here. If it's a close game, and he blows it big time (which we all know will happen), then I'll take it the next step.
  12. Much as I like to criticize Dusty, this wasn't a mistake. It was a blowout. And in blowouts, you have a chance to put in bench players for vets. As for putting the pitcher in the 3rd spot......again, who cares? It was a blowout. Your logic only applies if it's a close game, and it wasn't.
  13. I would be very suprised if Z doesn't pull it together soon and start putting out 7+ innings regularly. He did this last year too. Z will settle in, and Eyre can kick his feet back and watch the fun 8)
  14. Williamson. Almost did us in. I need some Jack. But it's too early. Oh my goodness.
  15. One day we will find out how they've been cheating. I just know it.
  16. jumping out of my seat!! GET SOMEONE OUT!!
  17. Because Walker says what he feels like saying and the Cubs don't like that.
  18. Ow. I hate leaving Gamecenter with a 4 run lead to do some work, then coming back only to find it's a 1 run lead.
  19. I'm watching MLBTV, and he's mostly just barely missing. I'm calling Gameday anti-Cub BIAS!!
  20. On Gameday it's showing pitches almost off the screen. Is he really that out of control?
