  1. It's curious to you that people seek to make money :?:
  2. Hmmm. I respect your opinion, but books like those are traditionally very good sellers, as I'm sure you know. I will probably check out the Bonds book, though I might try to get a used/borrowed copy rather than spend any cash on it.
  3. Well, it's not like Sing hasn't logged a decent amount of minor-league playing time in the outfield. He's not a good fielder - which is why no one grabbed him in the Rule 5 draft - but he'd be a great choice to platoon with Jones. I did not know that. It's settled then. Grissom out, platoon Sing with Jones. God, being a GM is fun!!! 8)
  4. Brandon Sing baby. Cut Grissom and teach Sing how to play the outfield. Come on, do something imaginative for once.
  5. Haha. Seriously though, I think the words "fun" and "cool" will probably be the last words that come to mind if Bonds is allowed to break the most sacred record in baseball. You know, with confetti flying and ESPN fools hurling superlatives. If it was to happen, and they were to give him a chocolate colored Corvette or some such nonsense, I might even vomit.
  6. You must've been watching a small sample of the game if Curry was dominating. Hmmm... I was watching in the beginning/middle of the 3rd quarter, and Curry was indeed dominating. The Knicks as a whole were during that time. So I posted it. I'm sure it was a small piece of the game. I stopped watching when the Bulls got down by 15. What's the big deal, if I may ask? Curry is certainly capable of playing well. Hasn't shown it this year---maybe his heart really is a serious problem.
  7. Indeed. Which....was.....why I was suggesting what I was suggesting in the first place  But no matter. It looks like the Cubs will simply replace Wrigley piece-by-piece, as others on this thread have noted. It will be interesting to see what happens with the main grandstand structure. That will be the largest project, and will probably need to be handled with the greatest care lest the ballpark go from "classic Wrigley" to "new Wrigley" and lose its historical appeal.
  8. This is fun. I wish there was a way Comcast could broadcast a few Iowa games. Even if they were taped.
  9. BIRD-KILLER HAS A MONSTER CURVE. 8)
  10. Fassero is living proof as long as you are a lefty, it doesn't matter how old or bad you are.
  11. I think that was Dopirak rather than Sing.
  12. Murton will be moved before Pierre. Pierre's on a one-year ride, right? I don't know, he just smells like "bust" to me. Hopefully I'm wrong. I'd rather not mess around if he stinks. You'd move Murton before Pierre, even if Murton was producing and Pierre wasn't?
  13. I say we give Pierre until June to produce. If no dice, dump him ASAP and call up Pie.
  14. How hard would it be to move from first to one of those positions? What's the learning curve? It can't be that bad. He'll never see the light of day with Lee @ 1B, that's pretty much a given. Would be a shame.
  15. Um, can Sing play a little LF? RF? I'd like to see him get more of a shot---not going to happen at 1B obviously.
  16. Haha, Grissom will be this year's Neifi for SURE.
  17. Well, here's to a successful surgery and a speedy recovery for Woody. I'm sure we can all agree to that :)
  18. That should lock up the line and clear the way for Ruben Brown's retirement. Well deserved, by the way. Metcalf used to be a whipping boy of the fans. This year he developed into a solid player.
  19. or, it implies he's worked out real hard, which is fanstastic, but sometimes has consequences, like a creeky knee. Ok, then that implies that Hendry & Baker knew about this all along, it's not a minor thing, they deliberately held it back. We can't have it both ways. Either Hendry & Baker are liars, or Woody's not working out in the offseason. Which is preferable? Does it make sense to you that Woody can't get through an offseason workout program without needing surgery? I mean come on, if that were the case for most people we would need surgery clinics the size of SuperMax prisons. Something is not right. Putting 2 and 2 together, it's not adding up.
  20. I would have to agree. Sad thing is, if he comes out hot in April we'll probably have to live with him the whole season no matter how badly he tanks.
  21. Despite the point total, I agree. He had a good game today. He was playing with a tweak, and yet he had several key plays down the stretch. Good win for the Illini today. Never easy to go in there and win.
  22. Well, Illini by 10 with 6min to go. Certainly not over yet. Nice job putting the team in a position to win on the road though.
