  1. So the players on this team who suck day in and day out should never have to be called on it? Come on. I'm glad ARam made those comments. Players who are stinking it up know it, and ought to own up to it rather than cry about somebody pointing out the obvious. Who's going to light a fire under these guys then? It sure isn't going to be Dusty, I can guaran-damn-tee that.
  2. Yeah, so what? That's his opinion. Williamson was bad. He fetched little because he was worth little.
  3. The Cubs need to do much, much more than this. This is a team with so many holes they can't easily be counted.
  4. Morgan openly hates Sandberg, even going so far as to carry out a national campaign against him. Then he refused to show up at Ryno's Hall of Fame induction. Morgan is a piece of crud. I could care less about McCarver. But Morgan has my undying hate for ever and ever.
  5. agreed. still hate them less than u2 though. yes. Yep. Ok so which stupid song are you referring to? They had more than one
  6. Even RATM would have voted for Queen in that poll.
  7. Amen on that. Leppard probably sold more records total, but Priest had much more substance and attitude IMO.
  8. Sucks? Hardly. Incredible? Earth shattering? I don't think so. Joshua Tree was a real good album, IMO. High N' Dry and the Scorps Blackout album were constants in people's car stereos when I was young though. I went with Lep ;) In truth, neither group is an earthshaker to me.
  9. remind me how many Cream albums there are again? They had 4 I believe, plus the live stuff and jam sessions. It was more than Nirvana. Now---I don't want to get into WHY Nirvana only put out 2 full-lengthers, but that's all they did. Anyway Nirvana's got this one so it hardly matters. I'm not a Cream fanatic. Clapton's impact in music ranks higher than Cobain's, IMO.
  10. Oh yeah! It's another blown lead by the Cobs! Wouldn't want to upset the boat or anything. Hell no. Now you can sleep tonight guys. Good job!!
  11. They obviously did it. I didn't think cowardice was one of Stephen A's traits. Well, I was wrong. Own up to it, man. You tried to perform a hack job on Dusty. Just admit it. (not that I don't think Dusty should be booed, mind you.....but not as a bush-league setup job)
  12. Carlos walks 'em to clog the bases. Helps stop the other team from scoring.
  13. Nirvana only had a couple records of original stuff, right? Going with Cream. Clapton is one of the greatest.
  14. Queen might be the only band in this competition who I would vote for over Led Zep. Queen was monumental. Arguably the greatest ever. There's just no question about that. Look at the volume of work, the diversity of it, the insane talent of the musicians, the sheer number of hit songs--many of them completely different from each other.
  15. I'll give them both credit that they never sold out and stuck around for ages & ages. Going with AC/DC -- just because I think Highway to Hell and Back in Black are both very good records, musical talent or not.
  16. Hate to be a wet sock, but I wouldn't read too much into how a team plays when the games no longer matter. This is like extended spring training now. Not quite----but the games have no real meaning, so the pressure's off...
  17. Doesn't sound like most people are giving up on Ronny...

    Novoa

Hawkins was much better than Novoa. In the middle relief role, yea he was. Novoa throws 97. That's got to be the reason he's still here.
  19. I think Pierre's improved performance less to do with the grass, and more to do with the fact that the games no longer matter.
  20. I was just about to post that it looks like Hendry's stooges got to Rogers when I read this. Agree, agree, agree. This article reeks of Cub influence.
  21. Just listened to A National Acrobat. God I love that song. Actually, the whole Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album.......there's nothing like catching a band right when they are teetering on the edge, ready to implode.
  22. He is a jerk.....but he kicks ass on the 'skins'. Lars Ulrich is not a good drummer. and the Clash is not a good band, so there you have it. plus good drummer or not, lars co-wrote most of their best music Lars' skills have eroded a bit, but for Metallica's earlier work he was considered a fine drummer. I never got the whole Clash thing. I really don't understand it, and to be honest I really don't care, so this was an easy vote for me.
  23. 'Smith would have done much better here if they had stayed gone. Comebacks aren't always the greatest thing... But hey who am I to judge? Tyler & Perry made a buttload of money coming up with pale imitations of their good songs.
  24. Yeah, this is an amusing little thrashing. Mercy rule? 8)
  25. CSN isn't rock. Sabbath shook the earth. Easy choice here. CSN shouldn't be in this tourney-----I like them, but they don't belong here. I promise I'd vote them high in the folk/vocal tunes tourney. They are arguably the best ever there...
