  1. By hook or crook, Bears. Win This Game
  2. Many of the people in the media that I've heard pick the Colts actually are saying that they think the Colts are a better overall team right now. For example, I heard both John Elway and Chris Simms say this on the Dan Patrick show. Bears have 2/3 better units. There can be no question about this. It's just that Colts offense is much better than ours.
  3. Joe Buck is an Alien. Bears Vs. The World (and Manning too)
  4. And the TV Guide reads: Sunday, 5pm Super Bowl XLI: Bears vs. The World
  5. LF: Roast CF: Me RF: Treeman
  6. The eye is uncontrollably drawn to the left. It is an awwwwwwwwfully nice avatar.
  7. Accuscore's only 6-4 in the playoffs. Not all that great. But yes: this will be very tough. We'll need to play extremely well to win this game.
  8. Bears vs. The World, once again. Apparently we shouldn't even bother showing up Sunday.
  9. I realize that. But how did he make more of a difference in the SF game than the Detroit game? The stats are very similar (including the score). Unless you're talking about the second Detroit game... I was talking about the first one-that game is right on the border. The only reason I gave it to him is that 17 of the 24 points in the first half came on drives that started on the Chicago 30 or worse. The TO's helped Detroit not score, but it didn't put the offense right in position to score, and Grossman led them down the field 3 times in the first half to help make the game a blowout. I'm not sure how you even measure the stat "made a huge difference" Pretty speculative. He's the QB, he had some really good games, and the Bears won by some big margins. That's about as far as I think anyone can go.
  10. He'll manage the Cubs to the World Series. Oh, sweet retribution!! :D
  11. You weren't paying attention if that's what you think. There were a probably a handful of times in the first half where Grossman threw balls away intentionally in an attempt to be extra cautious. He certainly missed some throws (one in particular to Clark in the endzone) but I didn't think he was wildy erratic or anything. That's why I couldn't understand why Aikman and Buck were harping on his slow start, percentage-wise. A QB has to not only not make mistakes-they have to make plays. Even if you take away 5 incompletions as throwaways (which every QB has, BTW) Grossman still started 4/13. 60 percent is considered average for a professional QB. Under 50 percent is considered as being pretty bad, and Grossman's 4/18 start, or 22.5 percent was simply awful. I'll bet there weren't 5 QB's this year all season besides Rex that ever started a game that poorly in completion percentage with so many attempts. Yet his QB rating this postseason is better than Peyton's. And he's thrown way fewer INTs.... If he's so terrible how did he ever manage to do that? In huge, nationally televised games? Under the microscope of the entire planet who said he would implode against Seattle and the Saints?
  12. The experts are picking against us. Madden says we'll lose. The Media says we have no chance. Even Vince Neill says we can't win. I guess the Bears should just forfeit the game. Why bother even showing up?
  13. John Clayton's article today pretty much says Harper won't play. He said that he's only been able to get about 10 min of running in this week, and that he's wearing a boot. While that bodes well for us, I hope that Grossman just doesn't key on whoever is replacing Harper and go after him...I want Rex to go through his reads as he normally would. Clayton's article also says Rex has been bad more than good this season. Which is plain wrong any way you try and look at it. Yeah, I don't get that. I suppose if you define "good" as Manning-esque 100+ QB ratings, then yeah Rex only had 7 games like that. But I don't think Peyton had more than 8 100+ QB rating games either, did he? I've been hearing alot on the radio about "Rex getting frustrated" and "Rex fires on the media" I didn't hear the interview, but reading this article it kind of sounds like the moment was actually a humorous one: http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/couriernews/sports/240266,3_2_EL02_C05BEARS_S1.article
  14. Wow, I killed the Bear/Colts thread 8-) I was JOKING folks. I know the Colts won't be trying to cheat. Just getting a little too excited for this game. People at work think I'm crazy----got my Urlacher jersey on, my NFC Champions hat; greaseboard has all kinds of crazy Bear drawings on it. LOL, too much fun
  15. You're taking an awwwwwwwful lot of reliever stats and ERA+'s from years ago to build that hope on, wolf.
  16. QFT. I'm just glad its getting some congressional attention...I honestly don't care what party or person is bringing it up. This'll get about as much attention in congress as the slaughter in Sudan. I.E. zilch.
  17. Hehe....I see you don't have HD. You really need to experience HDTV. You'll see why it's so much better than regular. Lots of things we pay for aren't necessities----what does that have to do with anything? As for DirecTV and HD, DirecTV has Sunday Ticket which offers a ton of HD NFL games from around the country, it now has EI which will supposedly offer more HD games than anyone else. It's a matter of which carrier is offering the most HD programming, not that DirecTV is inherently better for HD.
  18. This time Clemens will demand to only pitch when his team is in Texas. And he's signing with the Red Sox
  19. Colts will no doubt watch the Saints game film, see they can CHEAT, and then proceed to CHEAT all game!
  20. Peyton will get his yards. Its the design of the cover-2. Even Drew Brees threw for 350+ yards. Its points that are the deciding factor. We didn't play much cover-2 against the Saints. Oh, and 88 yards of that was the play Bush scored after getting open on an illegal pick. Well, the NFL said that wasn't an illegal pick because of the little to no contact that the picking player made-you're allowed to shield apparently, as long as you don't block the guy (like Troy Brown did) or knock him over. Yeah, well the NFL was wrong. It was an illegal pick.
  21. WTF? You're BigSlick. You aren't supposed to get all negative on us now.
  22. Another Cub killer bites the dust. Have a nice retirement.
  23. Freaking 103 pages!!! And it's not even Friday yet! What's over/under for # of pages by gametime? I think there will be slowdown on Saturday......how about 130?
  24. Whipped, allergic to superior technology, or both? Figures. This is spectacular news.....Kerry...you get this fixed and I'd consider supporting you for President....or better yet...get this fixed, and Don't run for president...let someone who can actually win have a chance. Any news on whether he'll go after this one like he ran his last Presidential campaign?
  25. Is an ignigma some sort of a lizard? O:) Enigma! Hmmm...Prior is a lizard, eh? Frontpage news in the Sun: "Prior is called a lizard by writer, demands an apoligy!!" He's an enigma.....swallowed by an iguana.....surrounded by an igloo
