  1. I really didn't want to have the ball first. Damn. I think I detected Urlacher wasn't happy either.
  2. Things I want to see: 1) Punishment. Don't let the Colts have easy yardage, don't let the receivers just run down the field and grab passes uncontested 2) Pressure. Do not allow Manning to throw when he wants to. Make him throw early, and get sacks. 3) Turnovers. Get the ball back, score on defense. 4) Ball control. Long drives, keep Peyton off the field, run the clock while putting up points. Do not turn the ball over. Things I don't want to see: 1) Open Colts receivers catching easy passes 2) No turnovers by the Colts, or they win the turnover battle 3) Not representing what Bear football means: wimpy hits, bad fundamentals, just tackling instead of punishing........none of these are acceptable on this stage. 4) Colts finishing drives with touchdowns instead of field goals. If we see the first set of factors, the Bears may have a chance. Play like that second set? Bears will have no chance. CUT THROUGH, BEARS. CUT THROUGH  BEAT THE ODDS.
  3. Colts hype in full swing now. Boomer was basically trying to coach the Colts to victory from the announcer's booth.
  4. Oh man. Getting close now! Come on Bears, cut through the Colts hype and pull the upset. DO THIS THING.
  5. No it won't. The Bears are a team that runs it to throw it, while the Colts are a team that throws it to run it. So, the weather will affect the Colts moreso then the Bears. The Bears have no problem with running the ball all game, considering that is their strength. True, but the Colts have been much better at just standing up and running it down an opponents throats lately. The wind won't affect the Colts passing game much-they simply don't go deep all that much. I see the wind as being a pretty neutral factor right now. I ultimately believe it's neutral too. I'm open for any freak gusts of wind that knock the ball out of Manning's hand, though 8-) Actually, I'm just open for any possible way for the Bears to win this game. Anything
  6. If Harper's 75% the Colts are lucky. I'd test him if I was Turner...
  7. At this point, it's all but guaranteed there will be some rain during the game. There are some light showers at the stadium. http://image.weather.com/web/radar/us_mia_ultraradar_plus_usen.jpg Well, may it hurt the Colts and not the Bears. That is all ;)
  8. It may turn out that the wind will be more of a factor than the rain, eh? I always thought it would, but right now it's not too bad either (9 mph from the north at Opa Locka right now). Earlier they were talking 15 mph with gusts to 20. That could put a real hitch in Peyton's getalong, no? Hopefully it will. The Bears can run the ball all day if they want to. The Colts must pass the ball successfully to win. I don't think it will have much effect, but I certainly hope it hurts Peyton.
  9. His only reasoning was the Gator thing He believes defenses can rise to the occasion.
  10. Well, at least Ray Ray thinks we have a chance.
  11. Bears would not dare to disappoint BBB! 8-)
  12. Wow, stunned that Harper practiced after all the talk of him on Friday. Well, it was just a 75-minute walk-through. Unless it's a career ending type of threat, I don't see how anyone would miss this game. It's the last game of the year. You have nothing else to rest up for. You have the entire offseason to recover. I know they may not be 100%, and could possibly hurt the team if they played, but if I were them, I'd at least dress and be ready to go in at any time. Yeah, you definitely dress him. There's no point not doing that. It just becomes a question of whether he helps the team or is injured enough that he hurts it.
  13. Run the football, Bears. Win by wearing them down and keeping Peyton off the field. The weather should favor that style of attack, as well.
  14. And your point is? Obviously local fans can still watch their team, making that claim is absurd, and pointless. The fact is MLB is taking away a previous choice that MLB fans nationwide had. They are limiting options instead of expanding upon them. and as MLB owns the broadcasting rights to it's games, they can do whatever they want. If they only want one person in Wyoming to be able to watch games, that's their choice. that's not the point, at all. we know this is MLB's choice. a lot of us think it's a very dumb thing to do. Actually no, if you read back in the thread you will see some who think this should be taken to court, or congress.
  15. That channel is MASN, which is part of the RSN Sports Pack (as mentioned before). You purchase that package and you get all the regional sports networks ---- the Fox channels, Comcasts, I think YES network and a few other odds and ends are on that one. I don't have it because I get Comcast Chicago as part of my basic package. No carribean W.S. for me :(
  16. I know. Even Super Bowl 41 somehow becomes about *him*. For a supposedly humble Mormon, he sure is egotistical.
  17. Wow, the NFL just announced there will be a regular season game played in London next year. Giants/Phins -- week 8, Wembley Stadium.
  18. The bench is finally respectable. Before this year is over, I'm betting we're going to reap the benefits. Somebody's going to get injured and this year we've got a few players who can keep us playing good baseball until the starter comes off the injury list (unlike last year).
  19. The Super Bowl is really all about the coporate sponsors and the casual, rich fans. And celebrities. Somebody said there will be 65,000+ seats available, and only 25,000 go to the season ticket holders. This game is football taken to Academy Award levels. It's when people who don't pay attention all year long finally sit down and watch football.
  20. He's going to need to learn that when the chips are down, running right into the teeth of the defense and attempting to get off a wild, well-defended shot isn't going to win you many games. But yeah, I'm impressed. 2 road wins in a row out west for the Bulls. Yes, they were against weaker teams, but we need this badly.
  21. I think at some point Hester has to break loose or at least find a few holes to give the Bears good field position. And Hester's still a wild card. I have no idea what the pressure of the Super Bowl is going to do to him. If he starts bobbling the ball it could be trouble. I'm pretty worried about that...
  22. After Sweet Lou has led us to three in as many years with the team. 8-) Lou retires, hands the reins to Matheny, we sweep the season series vs. the Cards and win our 4th World Series!! ***wakes up***
  23. This must have been some kind of arby deal or something. $4.5mil for the MVP just sounds so cheap.
