I'd rather have a good pitcher :wink: True. My feeling is that if you have a pitcher on a one-year deal who sucks, the team is more willing to DFA him than a pitcher on a three-year deal. If Marquis sucks, but Marshall or Guzman is doing well in Iowa, the Cubs are still likely to stick with Marquis due to the longer financial commitment. If you had a pitcher, ala Weaver, on a one year deal under the same scenario, the team is more willing to cut bait and go with the youngster. Nightmare scenario. Yeah, that would be bad.
