  1. http://www.firesoul.com Is it weird that I totally got the irony of the joke, yet still clicked the link . . . just in case? ;) The site is down because I was already fired. That's why I'm here :P You should have seen the day after I was hired. Wow, those were the days.
  2. You should probably read what's on the site before criticizing. I wasn't talking about the content of the site.
  3. I can't think of a more annoying trend than the "fireXXX" websites that sprout up the day after a new coach is hired. Does someone still think this is funny or cute? It isn't.
  4. What's really scary is I once thought Bobby Hill would develop into a decent little leadoff/pesky-style hitter. Oh yeah. Don't EVER trust one of my scouting assessments  I thought Brant Brown would eventually be a good successor to Mark Grace, too. I totally suck.
  5. He wasn't a crappy lefty. He just got old. Oh, he was pretty crappy the past few years. That's because he got old. regardless of age he was crappy. i remember being scared everytime he took the mound towards the end of his stay in chicago. Fassero and Veres................those two made my stomach turn when they pitched with the Cubs. Well, at least Fassero could actually *USE* the excuse of being old.
  6. How the $!@#*& do you let the Warriors drain 7 threes on you in the 4th quarter?!? This team is going nowhere.
  7. MLB won't lose a single fan over this. Blustering and bellyaching to the Moon and back, yes. But not a single fan lost.
  8. For a team that added veterans and is supposed to be playoff contender, they sure do suck on the road. Especially out West. Do they have a real good road win yet this year?
  9. Looks like a better decision than Norv from where I'm sitting. Especially after the Garrett hiring. It's still kind of blah though. Wade's at least got some success as a HC in his past.
  10. He's tossing TDs at Bulger's rate, and he isn't in a passing offense as Bulger is/was. Grossman's doing fine.
  11. Alot of the so-called power elite of NCAA football are steaming over Illinois. What's their deal? A new program pulls an old, tradition-rich school out of the doldrums after many, many years of incompetence. That's the very definition of U of M, ND, Miami, FSU ---- all these schools did the very same thing. At one point or another, nearly every school was terrible
  12. Always crazy to think of players like this. How does it work that a guy is that good for a year, then just tanks? Assuming it's not drugs, then what? Voodoo?
  13. Why wouldn't he develop? I don't see why he wouldn't. Many great QBs didn't take their teams anywhere near the Super Bowl in their first full years. I won't bother naming names because I'm not going to try to compare Grossman to great QBs, but it's true nonetheless. And "he had a great defense" excuse just doesn't cut it. The Bears defense was quite mediocre throughout the entire 2nd half of the season, and in the playoffs. Grossman should develop, so long as he doesn't let the hack job artists into his head. Those who said Grossman would never take this team to the Super Bowl are desperate for him to fail now that they've been shown to be wrong. Even if it hurts the Bears, many in Chicago will try their hardest to unseat this player.
  14. All he has to do is buy up a lot of MLB.TV stock once people find out they can't get their MLB EI anymore, and he'll be as rich as he wants to be. He's already told the world he's retiring. Now he's just got to get his retirement fund started. His kid's kid's kid's kids have got to eat. If this is going to have a detrimental effect on MLB, then explain how Sunday Ticket has hurt the NFL.
  15. Remember TJ and the Cardinals? Carr has all the earmarks of a QB who can still be very good. Houston takes good players and makes them look like trash. An NFL black hole, just like the Cardinals and Lions. Not sure if there's anything we can do to get him, but just saw his name and decided to chime in.
  16. The Bus finally got a ring, that's the last Super Bowl I remember. All of that has been blocked from my memory. I don't see why you'd have to block anything from memory, that makes it all the sweeter. I agree to an extent, but that one really really hurt. I did my best to forget that game as soon as "he missed it". Yeah, that 2005 Colts team was the best Colts team I have ever seen-great offense, good defense, good special teams. They just had the tragedy and then too much rest for the key people, and they took 3 quarters off and it was 1 quarter too much. That was a tough one to swallow for sure-in the playoffs, the 2006 team finally started looking somewhat like the 2005 version again. It's interesting. This year's Colts: maybe not quite as high-octane as the 2005 group. But tougher, a little more experienced, maybe a little more battle tested. And that got 'em through. I still don't think that Steelers team was all that great. Should have lost against the Colts----didn't impress me in the Super Bowl, got a ton of calls from the refs, made a couple gadget plays and won it.
  17. I have no problem with a Grossman/Griese competition in camp next year. I can't imagine any Bear fans would. Basically there should be competition at every position no matter what. Why not? Your stars should be able to win their jobs easily, and any marginal players need the motivation to get better.
  18. I'm ready to give Grossman some time to grow. I think he's got more upside. I think we need to re-sign Briggs or it won't matter what happens with Grossman. Franchise Lance please.
  19. Fact is, we just didn't get the job done and the Colts did. I'm not going to crucify Grossman as the only reason we lost. He had a bad game. So did some other Bear players. The coaches didn't do a particularly good job either. We were just beaten, that's all. The Colts were better. Nothing else needs to be said really.
  20. yeah, I didn't pay as much attention last year. Will comcast start focusing on the cubs alot once the pitchers and C's report? Such as have small segments on them in their 1 hour show? Well, I believe Comcast will be having more Cub ST games on than last year. Last year it was abysmal, like 2 games. So hopefully they will have more coverage. I would imagine the real stuff won't start until the whole team reports though.
  21. Yes, but I think the fact that Super Bowl losers are typically dismal the next year puts a damper on the accomplishments of this year. It's going to be exceedingly tough for the Bears to get back. If they lose Briggs-----nigh impossible.
  22. Hehe :) Pitchers and Catchers report everybody!! Feb 14th http://www.springtrainingonline.com/features/reporting_dates.htm I'm outta here. Good night, congrats to the Colts. Good season for the Bears, just didn't end the way we wanted it to. Now it's all about preserving this football team through the right contracts and acquisitions so the window doesn't close.
  23. I'd be satisfied with Benson as the full time RB. Having both is nice, but losing Jones would hardly be devastating. There are bigger fish to fry. Jones will be paid as a feature back for some other team's offense, I assume. I would go with Irons in the 2nd rd. if he's there. Yeah, can't be paying more RBs. Just draft one or pick one up somewhere. The Benson era has begun, assuming his knee isn't too bad.
  24. To be honest this is my worst nightmare. I knew the Colts were the more experienced playoff club coming in. The last thing I wanted was a Rex implosion that could carry over to next year and beyond. Now all the good things Rex accomplished this year will be forgotten.
  25. It doesn't matter. This is their proof that Rex should shut up and take all the criticism until his head explodes. To be honest, I'm not sure Grossman survives this. I know it's the Super Bowl and all, but he's going to have reporters crawling up his ass until he can't see straight now.
