  1. What the Cubs were first in something? Can we start a winning streak? That'd be great. It doesn't surprise me that the Braves clubhouse has problems, always thought there were just too many egos there (esp. Andruw Jones) to be a chummy as it has always sounded. Well, we've got a 3-gamer going right now, let's see if we can push it to 4 or 5 before Lee has to serve his suspension.
  2. That statement presumes that at some point in time he had some credibility to begin with. Yeah, that's true 8-)
  3. Pat thought that DeRosa was gonna be called out and Pagan and Pie would stay at 2nd and 3rd. Yes, but I believe Pat was the first to identify that they were huddling because of the obstruction. Perhaps Pat's former experience as an ump helped him out there - ? Anyway, best thing about that article: look over to the right, near the bottom of the page, in the "Photo Gallery" section. White Sox fan sitting all alone with paper bag on his head. Priceless!
  4. Sullivan's got pretty close to zero credibility left.
  5. Unless the CSN crew somehow didn't have a 3rd base or a home plate camera, their failure to put up a replay inside of 15 or 20 seconds is inexcusible. The fact that they never showed the obstruction at all* is enough to make one wonder if they knew what had happened but decided to sit back and enjoy the carnage. Maybe they hate Hawk and DJ as much as we do. *I've only seen the youtube video, so if they showed it in the bottom of the 8th, or the 9th, I wouldn't know about it The only reason I can think of to not show the replay is they were all down in the truck laughing at Hawk and DJ, and they wanted to see where those two clowns would go with it. LOL, that's pretty funny. Now I want to hear the recording of Hawk & DJ back in the truck yelling at them for hanging them out to dry. "DADGUM IT!"
  6. I don't think so. Pie was running towards 3rd, and he has not touched 3rd base when the interference occured. When it occured, the ball immediately becomes dead, and the runner stays at whichever base they are near by, I believe. By the time the interference occured, IIRC, Pie haven't touched 3rd yet. Of course, I could be wrong, but that's what I'd be guessing on how it was played out. I always understood it as obstruction awards you the base you are heading to. As the obstruction by Uribe happened after Pagan touched 2nd, he should be awarded 3rd, since he's awarded 3rd, Pie has to go home. Pie had not yet made it to 3rd so they cannot send him home. Since they can't send him home they can't send Pagan to 3rd. The umps got it right. Still stupid baserunning by the Cubs and then Pagan tops it off by making another baserunning blunder running into an out at 3rd on the sac fly. We're pathetic on the bases no matter how you analyze it. Indeed, and this is one of the primary reasons I don't see us going on a sustained winning streak to get back into this thing. The mistakes will cost us before that can ever happen, in all likelihood.
  7. Yes. Len & Bob spoke with the scoring booth in between innings, and it sounded like they were clear that the correct call was made, i.e. interference, dead ball, etc.
  8. Migraines can lay you out, give you headaches so bad you can't see, give you double vision --- even hallucinations in some rare cases. It's not a headache; it's much much more. I hope it isn't PCS, as someone else stated. I just read a really good article on NFL players and PCS. Once you mess up the brain, it never really heals fully.
  9. What's really funny about this whole deal is that it is obvious: Hawk & DJ didn't "see" the interference on Uribe because in their biased minds, it shouldn't matter than he knocked Pagan off the basepads. Only the bad stuff that happens to the Cubs should matter, anything illegal done by a White Sox is OK to ignore. Total homerism exposure. 8-)
  10. Yay, Cubs gain a game. Bout time we've been winning and not gaining too damn much.
  11. If it's anyone but the Royals, this game is over a long time ago. 1 down.
  12. when the Cubs do reach .500, some of us would like them to be 5 or 6 games out, not 8-9 games out. not exactly a silly concept. I must also admit to be a little confused with the whole "let the Brewers win all they want until we're over .500" concept.
  13. 1) White Sox send their protest to the league office 2) League office starts laughing that a team which can't put a single run on the board is protesting 3) Media gets wind of it, tells the Sox to just shut the hell up in the papers & on the radio 4) Issue is dropped That's if the Sox are really stupid enough to raise an actual protest.
  14. And here comes Makowiak, the Cub killer from years past, with an opportunity to revisit the old days. Come on Bob.
  15. Don't like the walk. Time for a DP ball to end it here.
  16. Don't like the walk. Time for a DP ball to end it here.
  17. Just 2 more outs now. Brooms peeking out of their closets...
  18. Here we go, 3 outs away from real dominance of the White Sox for a long time.
  19. I believe they were just as horrid in ST too. Haven't improved much in the regular season.
