  1. Did not expect. France just isn’t doing anything.
  2. To me, Instagram is Twitter since I don't have either. You can’t compare the two. It’s apples and oranges. Twitter is more like a rotten crabapple and Instagram is the plastic orange you put out for display purposes only horsefeathering brilliant.
  3. Sure didn’t look like the Hawks were too eager to stop that Ovechkin hat trick. Happy for the guy he’s an all time great but I guess playing host for the greatness of others is all we have left.
  4. 35-20 Philly. Bears unable to stop the Eagles in the red zone so the FG kicker is relegated to XP duty. Fields able to make a couple big plays for 2 TDs, Bears able to run the ball decently but bogged down in the red zone / Eagles territory too often to remain competitive. A game where we are able to say it would've been a no-TD day if not for Fields.
  5. So what you are saying is, with the right mental approach, the rest of the season will be fun no matter what. I like that. It'll only take me 30 minutes or so after a loss to shift my focus to the tank positives.
  6. But why not just root for Fields to play well and the team to lose? Defense is plenty bad enough. In the game itself I can’t root for them to lose. I can’t disagree with the logic of losing but I want to see Fields celebrating a great win this year. I think he’s earned that. And I think the Bears are sure to lose most games anyway and get a high enough pick that a good GM can leverage to rebuild.
  7. It would be nice to see Fields tear it up in a glorious victory. I can’t see regretting that during the draft just because it cost a position or two. More likely, if we drop to say #5 and Poles picks a dud, I’m regretting the Poles hire.

    NFL Week 14

Bears can’t afford to win even one more game.

    NFL Week 14

Tyreek Hill disagrees with you (though that was a monster game). My clear cut top 2. Ultimately DET was able to do just enough. But Jefferson is like a vacuum cleaner out there. Looks like a toss up stats wise between Jefferson and Hill, basically. Davante Adams is way up there despite being on a bad team. The rare GB player who legit can dominate in any situation. You can look at GB in 2021 vs. 2022 and probably tie a lot of the difference back to one WR, at least offensively. There are some interesting stats out there this year, like: Dolphins 8-5, PF 316 PA 312 Vikings 10-3, PF 312 PA 313 Raiders 5-8, PF 308 PA 313 . . . Packers 5-8, PF 262 PA 302 Vikings really stick out to me. I tried to look up # of 4Q comebacks and couldn't find it but I've watched more than one game where Cousins just tosses it to Jefferson in 4Q and he's simply unstoppable. They are 2nd in the league in 4Q points, and mid-to-bad in every other quarter.

    NFL Week 14

Jefferson continues to be the best WR in the league.
  11. Of course I'm biased so I'll avoid gushing on here, but I'm really happy seeing him perform above expectations.
  12. With Poles' moves so far as GM, he's acknowledged that the Bears weren't good even with their key players so he started dealing them. I'm on board with that. In the process though, he's basically said I've got this. A ton to work with and confident he can pick and acquire the limited good/great talent even though all other teams will be competing with him for the same. I like the confidence, but we shall see... Like you, I'm looking for playoff contention - meaningful December games. If they don't progress to that point I'm going to sour on Poles, same as I did with Pace.
  13. Unless he’s a magic man with the golden touch it’s going to take more than one offseason. I’m looking for significant improvement and hopefully meaningful games in December. It’ll be 2024 when the Bears are a serious threat, best case.
  14. Pending tape review where there's an obvious better throw, it was like 1.5 mistakes at best. It was an anticipation throw where Jaire made a great defensive read and St Brown did nothing to protect the ball. That’s fair. I did go a bit meatball in the immediate aftermath of both throws, pinning them on fields (though acknowledged he had a great game before that). Clearly ESB screwed Fields over on the first one. I don’t know about the second one, I get he was trying to make something happen in desperation time though. Yeah I thought ESB had a solid game but on that play the ball has to come out as the break is happening. Fields can’t know ESB won’t beat the defender back to the ball. It was super disappointing but I think with a better receiver that’s a completion. That said ESB has actually done more this season than I thought he would. I’m not saying the Bears will keep him though.
  15. Yeah I think the Vikings will beat the Bears with backups. I’d be surprised if the Bears finish better than 3-14.
  16. Something happened that Fields stopped running. Could be developing him as a passer. Could be saving his legs. Could be something else. But it was intentional.
  17. What kind of limp dick third down call was that? And then of course the missed field goal.
  18. Fox is giving Saban a prime time lobbying session to try to get Alabama in to the playoff.
  19. No. They are still one of the four teams with one loss or less, so they still have a case. I think they are likely out, but it wouldn't utterly stun me if they weren't. The last two days have officially broken fivethirtyeight's model  I almost always like their models, but that is a pretty insane result right now. Ahh horsefeathers. That’s what I get for working late on a Friday and forgetting a game was happening. I completely missed the USC loss.
  20. Wait. TCU is for sure out provided other expected winners come through right?
  21. Maybe some USFL players could use a little extra "pre-season" reps.
  22. Oh yuck. This is awesome news. It keeps the circus going full strength. I'm here for the entertainment now.
  23. Awesome. I guess Iran will now jail their team.
  24. +9 what the hell. I guess giving them +10 would be too obvious.
