  1. It's probably the old man in me, but skipping a top bowl / playoff just doesn't sit well with me.
  2. Apart from Utah losing their QB, the defense has been horrible… Good to see the B1G win the Rose Bowl.
  3. Zing, LOL.
  4. Damn this has been a really fun bowl season.
  5. Tulane what the hell? Huge run then easy rushing TD after that. Then......gadget play for the 2 point conversion? You are opening huge holes, run the damn ball.
  6. Needed that one tackle at the end to make it a reasonably tough field goal. Too bad, the D played well.
  7. Yeah they’ve got weapons and I think they can play good football, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see an early exit from the playoffs. https://www.si.com/fannation/bringmethesports/vikings/in-search-of-truth-about-the-vikings-point-differential We'll have to see of course. Yesterday has to give anyone pause. It was a Packers team playing for their season and with a good QB and trending up. All teams play for their season in the playoffs. On the other hand, some of the things that caused that game to snowball (special teams, tipped INT return for TD) might not happen, and their OLine was almost immediately crippled too.

  9. Vikings are doing their usual 1st half crapout but I don’t think they’ll mount a comeback today.
  10. No. Nobody can look at this and conclude the coaching staff is competent. Yea I mean I get it that we’re rebuilding and the roster is lolbad but I haven’t been particularly impressed this year. I mean it’s a lost season where nothing can be determined with certainty. We’re being asked to wait and see by a guy who has never run a FO before and a coach who has never run a team. They’re rookies - in a sense - telling the city they can tank a season and it’s perfectly OK. I don’t think it’s cool. At all. Poles and Eberflus have zero credibility to do this and inspire faith that they will succeed. Zero.

  12. Next week now becomes a must-lose. The Bears can't allow a meaningless win to drop them from 2 to 4.They’d lose convincingly against Minnesota’s second string. The only thing I’m worried about is a meaningless Fields injury.
  13. horsefeathering Brady man.
  14. This color guy is a moron, sorry but he is with a comment like that.
  15. I’m not sure I would classify that as a play even.
  16. Looks like Fields was already hurt. Two times in the tent in the first half. If he plays again today it’s coaching malpractice.
  17. He’ll get hurt if he stays in, clearly DET will get to him and there aren’t any targets. Can see it coming a mile away.
  18. Fields not running with this OLine and WRs is just as dangerous to his health than just running. And it seems like every time he does run a lot, they’re working on his leg on the sideline.
  19. This is one hell of a game. We’re set for two of the best semifinals I think I’ve seen in the playoff.
  20. Yeah Ohio State isn’t going down without a fight.
  21. This time next year the Bears need to at least be a bubble team or it’s a catastrophe. There’s been so much put into the tank basket. That’s fine but it can’t be a long trajectory up. It has to turn around fast. Also, let’s face it Poles was gifted a solid QB. Few GMs get that coming in.

    NFL Week 16

It's crazy how stacked that 2011 draft class was. Watt was probably the most dominant defensive player in football for a good 4 year stretch before the injuries, but there's a good chance he may have the fifth most sacks in that draft class if he retires early and Quinn plays few more years. Watt would probably be top 10 all time if he wasn't injured for a good portion of his prime. 1. Von Miller (drafted 2nd overall) - 123.5 sacks 2. Cameron Jordan (24th overall) - 112.5 sacks 3. J.J. Watt (11th overall) - 111.5 sacks 4. Justin Houston (70th overall) - 111.0 sacks 5. Robert Quinn (14th overall) - 102.0 sacks Also up there on the leaderboards is Chandler Jones at 112 sacks drafted a year later. Still can't believe McClellin was drafted over Jones. Possibly could have changed that 2012 season. I would have liked him anyway, but the fact that JJ's a Badger and I got to see him develop, go into the NFL and make a huge impact is a source of pride. He was wearing a Badgers shirt in an episode of hard knocks too. I know it's kind of dumb but I can't help it. Love the guy.
  23. If those odds aren't taking into account the state of the teams they are playing, then what use are they?

    NFL Week 16

Nick Foles is playing football again with predictable results.
  25. I've always been team "let him get reps" but if they are going to gameplan and playcall and have the personnel that they did Saturday, there's no reason to play him in that mess. If Claypool is a go, I do see the value in getting reps with him and Velus (they should get a ton of targets each). But if no Claypool, there's not much to gain by him playing. Having this lack of talent hurts him more than helps him. What habit is he going to develop beyond throwing into every tight window every pass since no WR can separate? It’s like a hitter warming up with weights on the bat. When he steps to the plate for real it should be easy peasy.
