  1. Including last year, I believe they said on the broadcast tonight that the Cubs have lost their last 8 games against the Marlins. Damn Fish. I think I remember saying I didn't want to see these guys back when they swept us last time. How about realizing they're one of the NL's worst teams and playing accordingly, for a change?
  2. LOL @ Brewer commentator: "Kudos to the Marlins, they aren't going to lay down." You mean like the Cards and Padres? Too freaking funny.
  3. Alright, Cubs. Gonna let another tomata can punk you?
  4. True. Cubs win this game if not for an early Lilly implosion (and a couple junk hits along the way). Marlins didn't do crap afterwards. Gonna let a junk inning beat you from a team that's 11 games under .500 at home? Then you deserve to schedule a vacation in October instead of play baseball.
  5. Yeah that outside corner is BS, but whatever. That guy is a tard.
  6. Going to hit Floyd. Wonder if the Marlins will go with a lefty.
  7. What if when you die God looks at you and says, "know what? The Cubs never won because you put off so many negative vibes they choked under all that pressure." heh.
  8. Exactly! Well I'm usually negative in game threads when things go badly, but it's almost like coddling the team or something. They've reached this point now, it's in their hands. They outperformed my expectations. So now just go do it.
  9. Don't you know your history, mon?? Yeah, we know all about '04. Did you forget '03? The Cubs were tied with Houston with six games left (and tied again with three games left). I think some people falsely believe there's some barrier to the Cubs getting into the playoffs. There isn't. We've actually been in the playoffs more than some other clubs in recent history.
  10. It's frustrating to see Dontrelle punk us considering how horrible he's been. Maybe someone will wake up in that locker room after the game, quit watching the Brewers score, and play some damn baseball.
  11. I don't think the hand-wringing and teeth-gnashing is going to do anything. Except maybe give us ulcers at an early age. Maybe we aren't a playoff team, I don't know. I do know if the Cubs can't find a way to win a few games against the Marlins and Reds they certainly don't deserve to face the NL's best in the playoffs. If the Crew can catch us, hats off to them they deserve and we gave it away.
  12. Well it's disappointing that the Cubs would give up a bunch of runs early here, but I'll say what I've been saying: someone step up to the plate and get the job done or else we don't deserve anything. If not today, then someone get the damn job done tomorrow.
  13. Sleeping. He was sick as I understand it. 1-2-3 for Dontrelle.
  14. Santo has an enormous mancrush on him as well. Yea I'm listening to him tonight and he's definitely toting him pretty hard. Pat also just brought up the Ramirz GS from 03 that got all that depressing pregame talk started. Marlins announcers were quick to point out Ramirez is 2-14 against Dontrelle. Of course they didn't mention the salami.
  15. How would you find them when it's like 8:1 Cub fans? 8-)
  16. There's that curve. Good move by Lou early. I know it's probably overmanaging, but I still like it.
  17. Oh, I just assumed he's in NY, because you know...the name
  18. To be fair, once you watch like 55% of your games (all the WGN and CSN home games, plus the occasional national game) in HD, the other half or so look pretty freakin crappy. Yeah, I'll live. But once you get used to HD, other stuff looks pretty crappy. Like VHS compared to DVD. I guess since I don't have an HD TV I really can't get into the whole HD craze. Yeah, it definitely looks better, not not so much that I feel like I'm really missing anything not watching it in HD. With DVD's, I'm buying movies and TV shows that typically are shot to be of a certain expected level of "filmed" quality, so there I definitely appreciate any advances in picutre clarity much moreso than when I watch sports. As long as I can see what's going on, I'm good. HD really isn't ging to highlight something I'm going to miss otherwise. Neither will color, really -- you'll still see the game as it happened for the most part. But I bet you wouldn't want to watch the Cubs in B&W But I don't want to hijack the thread  I JUST WANT THE CUBS ON HD IN THE PLAYOFFS! 8-) Yeah, it took me a long time to get my HD service straightened out, and it really does make a huge difference. All the faults of regular broadcasts just stand out now. It's comparable to the difference between getting a solid regular cable system and a less than perfect over the air signal in my opinion. It's enough of a difference that I now deliberately watch programming in HD that I wouldn't have watched in SD. ...and I know that's not just me. Everyone I know is the same.
  19. I use to live right under that 95 sign. Right on the intercostal waterway. We use to have manatees swimming in our backyard. Why did I ever move.  I don't know. WHY?!? And you moved to NY? Not that it's a bad town, but you went from the land of Manatees, and bikini-clad women, and low taxes to the world of $1,500/month parking fees and Nor'easters!
  20. Just so no one is suprised and shocked, the Brewers will win tonight. And tomorrow night.

  22. I, too, wish people would separate their "surprise" player (which is what Theriot really is -- he gave us surprise production for awhile from a position where we thought we would get nothing) from the guy who really produces the most or makes the biggest difference. I understand it's exciting to watch a player do decently out of "nowhere," but let's make another category for those guys and give the big time producers the MVP. For me it's ARam this year.
  23. I'm hoping to be singing this in a 40K-member choir on 7 Oct. Hehe, no doubt. Git R Done, boys. Git R Done.
  24. I know, the horror. I might just off myself, I dunno
