  1. That's a shame because he is fantastically talented. I could see Belichick grabbing him if/when he falls into the second round. And it'd be a great pick.
  2. I like that a lot if it works. All the suspense has been gone from the draft in recent years because of that.
  3. That may be a bad sign that they're not buying his rehabilitation. Or it could just be concern over his past without real regard to whether he's fixed or not. If he falls enough, he has the potential to be a real steal.
  4. I went ahead and gave the Bears Ryan Broyles since that seems to be the consensus.
  5. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/jayron-hosley-vontaze-burfict-failed-drug-tests-nfl-scouting-combine-042512 Between this and the awful showing at the combine, I'll be really surprised if Burfict is drafted. He'll get interest (and maybe a lot) as an undrafted free agent, but I could easily see teams not seeing the upside with him to take the risk with an actual pick.
  6. From what I've read, Barron's kinda stiff too. Wes Bunting is probably my favorite draft analyst (along with Mike Mayock) and his write-ups on Barron and Smith are strikingly similar - and they line up with what I saw throughout their careers, though admittedly my scouting eye is very amateurish.
  7. I'll admit I may be getting blinded by talent, but Janoris hasn't been in any trouble since getting kicked out of Florida. That makes me think he's a little safer bet than Pacman was. Still, I'd defer to the Titans' judgement there. If they simply felt there was too much disciplinary risk with him, I wouldn't be upset. My #1 choice for the 1st round pick is, and always has been, Dre Kirkpatrick, though. But if they could get a guy like Mercilus in round 1 and then still get a talent like Jenkins in the second, I'd consider that a good enough value to take the risk that he's legitimately cleaned up.
  8. I like Mercilus to the Titans much more than the recent trend of Glenn to the Titans. Still want Kirkpatrick/Jenkins/Gilmore in the first round, but a major pass rusher like Mercilus/Ingram/Brockers would be really nice as well. With the way Jenkins is apparently dropping, though, I wonder if he might be available to the Titans in the 2nd round. A Mercilus/Jenkins tandem would be pretty much a dream scenario for me.
  9. I think Barron and Smith are really close. I'm thinking Barron being on Alabama's defense is helping to overrate him a bit in the draft. He's clearly a first round talent, but I've seen him go as high as top 10 or right on the fringe of the top 10 in some mocks. Seems way too high to me.
  10. Next 3 picks: 112. Cardinals (PriortoTheoIhadWood) 113. Cowboys (vance, imb!) 114. Eagles (Truffle)
  11. Brian Dawkins is about to retire, so the Broncos go safety here. Kelcie McCray from Arkansas State seems like the best option here. The Redskins need to give a weapon to their new QB, so they go with Tommy Streeter, WR, Miami. A big guy who can provide a big presence for RGIII. raw and the Chargers are up.
  12. From what I've read, I actually liken him quite a bit to a guy like Colin McCarthy on the Titans. Good at a bunch of stuff, not great at anything. A really useful player, but not a guy you take in the first round. I actually like the top group of safeties - Barron, Smith, Iloka, Martin - but I'd pass on Barron because I don't think the difference between Barron and Smith, for instance, is enough to warrant taking Barron a full round earlier.
  13. Yeah, I know McClellin is gaining traction, just questioning whether it should affect his draft status that much. I wasn't exactly questioning your mock, just the general opinion that it'd be a good idea to take McClellin before mid-late second round or so.
  14. Is McClellin really that good? I've not read anything that indicates he's worth a first rounder. I could see second, but first just seems like a major reach.
  15. I just don't see taking a 28 (or 29?) year old in the first round. The upside just doesn't seem like it's there. Taking him in the second I can see, but I guess I want more than 4-5 years (tops) of high level production out of my first rounder.
  16. Next 3 picks: 109. Redskins (dew) 110. Chargers (raw) 111. Bears (Raisin, etc) Is cutting picks down to 6 hours too severe?
  17. Next 3 picks: 107. Chiefs (Tiger) 108. Broncos (gooney) 109. Redskins (dew)
  18. The Bills need an offensive lineman, I think. We'll go with Matt McCants, OT, UAB. sulley and the Seahawks are on the clock.
  19. Do the Bills go QB here? Nick Foles/Brock Osweiler/Kirk Cousins are all still on the board and could be developmental guys behind Fitzpatrick (who I'm still not sold on).
  20. I thought Bear fans would find this interesting. From an interview with Pat Dye Jr., Dont'a Hightower's agent.
  21. Interesting full seven round mock draft by NFP's Wes Bunting. Only the first six rounds have been posted so far, I'm guessing round 7 will be up tomorrow or so. The Bears' first 6 rounds: Round 1: Whitney Mercilus Round 2: Kevin Zeitler Round 3: Dwayne Allen Round 4: Marvin McNutt Round 5: Mike Daniels Round 6: Nigel Bradham Vontaze Burfict goes in the 6th round to Baltimore.
  22. Interesting full seven round mock draft by NFP's Wes Bunting. Only the first six rounds have been posted so far, I'm guessing round 7 will be up tomorrow or so.
  23. Next 3 picks: 106. Seahawks (sulley) 107. Chiefs (Tiger) 108. Broncos (gooney)
  24. Gotcha. I was actually really surprised McNutt hadn't gone yet, given the B1G slant on this board.
