  1. Rachel Nichols reported on ESPN a few minutes ago that Orton would be the third QB today. Was that wrong? 3rd QB is always inactive. If he comes into the game, no other QB can. Ahhh, ok.
  2. Rachel Nichols reported on ESPN a few minutes ago that Orton would be the third QB today. Was that wrong?
  3. For those interested, Broncos running back Ryan Torain is out for the year with a torn ACL. I believe that leaves them with only Peyton Hillis healthy.
  4. ESPN just reported that Kyle Vanden Bosch is out. No surprise there, it'll likely be Dave Ball and Jacob Ford playing in his place. Neither are anywhere near as good as Vanden Bosch.
  5. Yeah, I figured he would give it a go, but he's going to be limited. If the Bears get in any situation where Bulluck is covering a TE or Forte out of the backfield, they should be able to eat him alive. His backup, Colin Allred is out for this game too. It wouldn't shock me to see Ryan Fowler, Stephen Tulloch and David Thornton out there when Bulluck isn't. Tulloch would likely shift outside to Bulluck's normal spot.
  6. It's been reported that Keith Bulluck will play against the Bears today. He may not play alot with his rib injury, but at least he'll be in there.
  7. Just figured I'd bump this up since the games are on in less than 90 minutes. It's been reported that Keith Bulluck will play against the Bears today. He may not play alot with his rib injury, but at least he'll be in there.
  8. Why does MSU jump Ball State for beating Purdue when the team BSU beat (NIU) would probably destroy them? Lather, rinse, repeat for Florida State. Eh, I don't think NIU beats Purdue, much less destroys them. Tennesee lost to Wyoming and Minnesota lost at home to Michigan. NIU lost to those two teams by a couple of points. Those look like pretty bad losses now for the Huskies. I don't think they'd beat Purdue. For what it's worth, yesterday in the loss to Wyoming, the UT players had already given up. It was pretty clear that Fulmer is out so the players are out too. Thus, we're better than we played yesterday and played that way against NIU. It's not a bad loss for NIU.
  9. Trojans up 10 - 3 and outgaining them by a 3 - 1 margin. It's only a matter of time before the onslaught begins. Perhaps, but I can hope.
  10. That'll never get old.
  11. USC and Cal are tied at 3 in the middle of the second. I'm sure it won't last, but that would be a good upset.
  12. Leach, Peterson, Mendenhall, Kelly, Beamer, Richt, Spurrier, etc. Leach? Hell no. Leach is a gimmick team. They're this years USF (ie not #2 but ranked #2). Chris Peterson at Boise State? What? BYUs Mendenhall? C'mon they need to play in a real league first. Kelly no. Beamer, eh.... I don't think so. Spurrier, ten years ago yes now not so much. Richt? Maybe. What do you think of Butch Davis in that first group?
  13. Leach, Peterson, Mendenhall, Kelly, Beamer, Richt, etc. Richt maybe, Beamer perhaps. Leach close but not proven enough yet. Peterson, Mendenhall and Kelly no.
  14. The real test for Miles will be after this season. They're obviously down now, the question is can Miles turn them back into the juggernaut they were. That'll really cement him as one of the top 10-12 coaches out there.
  15. I'd put Butch Davis in the first group - it's easy to forget how good that Miami team was he built. Had he not gone to the NFL, he might have another couple of National Titles. Otherwise, I agree with you.
  16. I never thought he was an elite coach, but what in this game makes you say this? Or is it just LSU's season as a whole?
  17. Alright Vandy, bow eligibility is on the line here. Beat Florida.
  18. I'm pulling for LSU tonight, but it'd be all kinds of sweet if Auburn pulled off the miracle at the end of the year and beat an unbeaten Alabama. The chances are almost as slim as Tennessee winning another game this year, but it's fun to dream.
  19. LSU just tied Alabama at 21 with 6:12 left in the game.
  20. Why did Iowa take a timeout there? Run some more time off the clock before using it.
  21. Biggest game of the year for Iowa. Possibly of the last two or three years. Yeah, he's nervous.
  22. I appreciate the pity. :D Honestly, though, I wouldn't be terribly upset with a Titan loss tomorrow. If nothing else it would take off the pressure of a possible unbeaten season (which we're not good enough to fulfill, I'm afraid) and the law of averages will likely start hitting us here pretty soon. We need to get out whatever losses are in our system before the playoffs start. That said, I'd really hate to lose to Rex Grossman.
  23. Did it have anything to do with Kiffin playing golf with Tennessee's top booster? Because if it was, it's completely false. I posted a rumor that Jon Gruden was playing golf with said booster earlier in the thread and the reporter giving the rumor made it pretty clear it was untrue. Now, that same rumor has expanded to the same booster playing golf with Kiffin. Funny thing is, this booster (Jim Haslam) doesn't even play golf. That said, I'd be ok with Kiffin. I'd assume he's a pretty good recruiter and he's at least a decent coach, but there are better options (Leach, Davis, maybe Brewster) than him out there.
  24. Nah, we set football back at least two decades, probably three.
  25. Just wanted to put everybody's mind at ease . . . I am not suicidal. Wyoming is a really, really bad team (with a pretty darn good running back in Devin Moore), but I'm mostly unphased by the loss. I think it has a lot to do with expectations. I no longer have any expectations for this team anymore. I knew they'd either come out on fire ready to show why firing Fulmer was a mistake, or utterly flat and basically give up on the year. It was definitely the latter. That said, I was in the press box for the game and the defense was stout once again. Wyoming scored 13 points - six on a Nick Stephens INT returned for a touchdown and 7 on a Nick Stephens INT returned to the Tennessee 4. This was the worst I've seen this offense play, perhaps ever though. Both Stephens and Jonathon Crompton looked utterly atrocious, though the running backs did a decent job without any help from the offensive line. We're now out of bowl contention and will most likely lose to Vandy and Kentucky - guaranteeing the worst season in Tennessee history. Bring on Butch Davis at a $4-million salary.
