  1. Who has the worse QBs - Tennessee, LSU or Mississippi State? And are they the worst QBs in the nation? My answers are MSU and I can't think of any teams with worse QBs off the top of my head. Kevin Craft is horrible. Good point.
  2. She doesn't appear to be real interested.
  3. It is a bit startling. At least Jonathon Crompton was a 4-star recruit when Tennessee signed him - he's turned out to be horrible, but he had promise early. None of the State QBs were likely to be worth anything from the start (though I thought Wesley Carroll could be decent after last year).

  5. Hey, don't be too ashamed. I was planning on rooting for a Steve Spurrier-coached team had South Carolina put up a fight. 24 years old drought about to end next week? I'm excited to see Cobb tonight. I guarantee it doesn't end next week. Only because we play Vandy next week, though. Honestly, ya'll will probably beat us. It will be kind of interesting, though, that I'll be in the UT press box watching a kid (Cobb) I watched in the high school press box just last year. Meh, the week after. After this half though, I'm not too sure, boy has UK played awful. Yeah, not sure what's happened to Kentucky so far. I thought Vandy would win this one, but not as handily as they are so far. Of course, there's still a half to go so UK can still pick it up (and Vandy's no juggernaut).
  6. :shock:17-3 Troy over LSU early.
  7. Bama in a dogfight with Miss State so far, up just 12-7 with 4:47 left in the first half. Vandy is dominating Kentucky right now, 14-0 and driving with 9:30 left in the half. Come on Bulldogs!!
  8. Mass hysteria. Get out while you still can. I'm thinking about abusing my Mod powers and locking this thread, just to see what happens. :) If Outshined One busts out the sea lions with buckets (I see he already got a lolcat in), you better not lock it. :D
  9. Every thread needs pictures of sea lions with buckets.

  11. 10-10 just like that. :( Now 16-10 Stanford. :D But State just fumbled the ball back to Bama. Crap.
  12. I'd love for Miss State to beat Bama 3-2 tonight (same score State lost to Auburn by). Not gonna happen probably, but it'd be kinda cool.
  13. Former Kentucky QB Curtis Pulley rushed for 132 yards today to lead FAMU over Hampton. Pulley is now apparently the quarterback of Florida A&M. Thought Ping might find this interesting.
  14. South Carolina already dashed my hopes of an upset there, so I'm really hoping one of Mississippi State or Stanford can pull the upset.

  17. If/when we get Peavy, the board will crash. It'll make the massive user rush seen during the Nomar and Harden trades seem like peanuts. I was on vacation for the Nomar trade watching espn when they announced, I don't think anything can top that being the last minute deal it was. I was driving back from work that day and flipped over to the local sports station listening for updates. I was actually just hoping we did something - not even expecting a Nomar deal. Then I heard Nomar was traded and then they started talking about the Cubs - it was 15 minutes or so before they actually confirmed that we acquired him. I nearly drove off the road with excitement.
  18. Much as I love Mike Singletary, I don't like that call at all. I understand Singletary wants a power football team, but he's gotta understand they don't have that right now. Playaction pass would have worked great right there, I think. Singletary definitely has a very talentless team (save a few guys) playing hard and being semi-competitive against mid-tier teams. He should get a contract somewhere after the year.
  19. not at all, but they're not great either. probably 9-7 and either miss the playoffs or lose in the first round. You guys don't suck, you just faced the best team in the NFL. Print those Giants-Titans Super Bowl tickets already and save us the final few months of unimportant football. I would be perfectly fine with that. It'd be nice if we could get a rematch with you guys, but of course, that's too much to ask for. Haha, a rematch would be a lot of fun. Hard to say who'd win the rematch (I'm sure both of us have strong opinions  ) but it'd almost certainly be a great game.
  20. I was fairly pleased with the Titans' play yesterday. The Bears did a good job of stuffing the run completely, but that would be expected with 8-9 in the box all day. I was extremely impressed with the passing game. As a team, the Titans rushed for negative yardage going in at halftime, and Heimerdinger made the adjustment then to open the offense and have Kerry Collins throw the football. It resulted in almost 300 yards passing and, perhaps, a chance to force teams to stop loading up the box. They likely will, though, and for good reason - it's much more likely that Collins will have a bad day than the LenDale/CJ duo. Brandon Jones is yet again coming into his own. He's shown flashes of being a #1 receiver in the past, but with the need to throw the football the past three games, he's really stepped up. In those three games (Colts, Packers, Bears) Jones has 16 catches for 156 yards. And the tight end duo (Bo Scaife and Alge Crumpler) is probably the best receiving duo of tight ends in the NFL. Without them, we probably lose two of the last three games. Finally, Rex Grossman is not a good quarterback. He missed some absolutely wide open receivers yesterday and made some unexplainably dumb decisions (scrambling out of the pocket and sliding for a loss instead of throwing the ball away, completing a pass to Matt Forte on a screen five yards behind the line of scrimmage with at least two Titans standing right beside Forte instead of throwing it at his feet). If Orton were the QB yesterday, there's a good chance the Bears would have pulled that one out. That said, I couldn't understand the lack of deep passes. The Titans are utterly susceptible to deep passes due to the man coverage, but Grossman only threw a couple (and completed both) that I remember seeing. He was under pressure somewhat (we've given a lot more pressure than that), but you've still got to get the ball down the field. This team could well enter the week 16 game against the Steelers at 14-0. I can't believe that's the case, but the biggest roadblock right now is a mediocre Jets team. Otherwise, we have the Jags, Lions, Texans and Browns left until the final two weeks. Gotta get homefield wrapped up before Pittsburgh.

  22. I'd be surprised if the deal actually includes Yunel because Peavy said he'd reject any deal with Yunel. He didn't say that. His agent used it as a hypothetical, and then had to clarify when everyone ran with the "Peavy won't accept a deal where the Braves lose Escobar" story. Good point, I missed the agent's clarification. Even still, there's some thought along those lines out there with Peavy. If nothing else, it lessens the chance that Yunel is dealt - and thus, heightens our chances of getting Peavy.
