  1. Wow, what a shocker. Jonathon Crompton threw an interception. :banghead:
  2. Really? I don't get that at all.
  3. We've got the receivers (Gerald Jones and Ahmad Paige) and the running backs (Montario Hardesty and Lennon Creer). The offensive line isn't very good, though, and the quarterbacks suck. That said, five-star recruit Tajh Boyd has committed to Tennessee and hopefully he'll be able to actually complete passes. I think the players can run it, though it wouldn't be nearly as effective next season as it is with Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree spearheading it. The frustrating thing with this offense is that there's good talent on the team, they're just not performing.
  4. Clemson is apparently chatting up Illinois offensive coordinator Mike Locksley for its vacant head coaching job. I've heard they like Dabo Sweeney alot, though, and will likely give him the job if they win out.
  5. I can't believe a win today by Tennessee would be an upset. We're playing Vanderbilt. And still nothing on the coaching search (other than Brian Kelly and Mike Leach tend to be the frontrunners). Please hire Mike Leach.
  6. Bad news Meph. Cameron Newton, the backup to Florida fans' hero, has been arrested and suspended from the team on felony counts of burglary, larceny and obstruction of justice. He apparently stole a student's laptop. What I'm trying to figure out is Florida probably would have been more than happy to either buy Newton a laptop or two or give him the money for it (surprised they didn't give him enough in the signing bonus when they signed him). Why steal one?
  7. This is just terrible. I hope Cincy wins. Come on Rocket, pump your boys up! lol they're gonna get slaughtered :( #2 pick baby here we come I'd even take a tie.
  8. And Ball State comes right back with a TD less than 2 minutes later. All tied at 24 with 12:50 to go.
  9. Touchdown CMU. 24-17 CMU with 14:21 left in the game.
  10. Yeah, it worked but if they're a couple of inches shorter they're probably down two touchdowns right now! Makes for good TV though and I'm pulling for BS as I grew up not far from there... CMU kicker pulls a 37 yard field goal attempt wide left. Score stays 17 all.
  11. And Ball State ties the game at 17 with 7:36 left in the third. Brady Hoke's gutsy call pays off.
  12. All it did was make up for an offsides the refs didn't call on CMU on that play. One of the CMU d-linemen was over the line when the ball was snapped. It should have been a five-yard penalty. I'm not crazy about the call, though it shows Brady Hoke has guts.
  13. CMU just took a 17-10 lead over Ball State. 12:32 left in the 3rd quarter
  14. Here's a link, for anyone interested.

  16. Time for a new NFL thread I'd say. So here we go . . . Thu, Nov. 20: Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh 8:15 p.m. NFL Network Sun, Nov. 23: Houston @ Cleveland 1 p.m. CBS San Francisco @ Dallas 1 p.m. Fox Tampa Bay @ Detroit 1 p.m. Fox NY Jets @ Tennessee 1 p.m. CBS Buffalo @ Kansas City 1 p.m. CBS Chicago @ St. Louis 1 p.m. Fox New England @ Miami 1 p.m. CBS Minnesota @ Jacksonville 1 p.m. Fox Philadelphia @ Baltimore 1 p.m. Fox Oakland @ Denver 4:05 p.m. CBS Carolina @ Atlanta 4:15 p.m. Fox NY Giants @ Arizona 4:15 p.m. Fox Washington @ Seattle 4:15 p.m. Fox Indianapolis @ San Diego 8:15 p.m. NBC Mon, Nov. 24: Green Bay @ New Orleans 8:30 p.m. ESPN And a little news: Roger Goodell has seen fit to reinstate Pacman Jones. Very hard to understand, but have fun with him Cowboy fans. He won't play Sunday, by the way.
  17. . . . . . . Wow. lol.... i feel sorry for chargers fans but not for their organization; they've sabotaged themselves. It's all A.J. Smith. That ego of his wouldn't allow him to coexist with one of the best coaches in the NFL (at the time). So he made the horrible decision to hire one of the worst. I do feel for Charger fans, that's a whole lot of talent being wasted in SD.
  18. I don't know whether to laugh at the Chargers or feel sorry for them. But Norv Turner will be back next season, says owner Dean Spanos. . . . . . . Wow.
  19. Yeah, I was going primarily with currently employed head coaches. Of course, Norv would likely be high on a historically bad list as well. I thought strongly about Cable, but don't have any evidence other than he can't win with these players (probably nobody can) and Al Davis seems to like him. That's some pretty solid evidence against him, but not quite enough for the list. i dunno, "al davis loves him" is pretty damning. I could be wrong, but I still expect Al Davis to fire Cable before the season ends. Two firings in one season - first time ever? If any owner is going to fire two coaches in a season, Al Davis is the guy for the job. For your sake, maybe he'll fire himself one of these days.
  20. Hermida. Without a doubt Hermida. I don't want to pay Bradley megabucks to sit on the bench with injuries. It's not like Hermida hasn't had his own durability issues either. Hermida played 265 games the past two seasons. Bradley hasn't played 100 games in the field in a season since 2004. "Durability issues" don't begin to convey the issues with Bradley.

  23. According to another board Levine was just on ESPN 1000 and said Bradley is the only RF Hendry is looking at. Gotta love that .436 OBP and .999 OPS. His injury history is somewhat discouraging, but with our depth we could afford to have him play in only 120-130 games. BTW, what board was this? And consider me on board for Bradley. Even if he only play 110-120 games that would be alright since we have the felixibilty with DeRosa, Fontenot, Fukudome, etc. I'd much much rather have 110 games of Bradley than 145 games of Ibanez or somebody like that. The last time Milton Bradley played the field, he only played 61 games - that was 2007. In 2006, he played 96 games, mostly all in the field. In 2005, he played 75 games. Granted he played 126 last year, but that was as a DH for 94 games. I don't know where you're getting that he could be healthy for 100+ games. It'd probably be more like 85-90. That's not worth upwards of $10 mil.
  24. Not that I want to disagree with the group think going on here that DeJesus is better than Teahen, but it should be pointed out that DeJesus is not younger. In fact, he is actually almost 2 years older than Teahen. True point. However, DeJesus did put up a 119 OPS+ last season, which is almost as good as the only year Teahen has put up an OPS+ over 100 (122). DeJesus has had four seasons over 100 OPS+, while Teahen has had one. I wouldn't give a ton for either, but I'd certainly prefer DeJesus.
  25. I'm sure the idea is to try to keep him from leaving. You "guarantee" that he'll take a premier job in a couple or few years, he's more likely to stay. That's the thing, we really have no clue to when Brown maybe wants to leave. That's true, but it's a slight bit more leverage for Texas to hope to keep him around. It may not work, but what have they lost by trying?
