  1. Steelers The Ravens were the worse team on the field Saturday and I think the Steelers are better than the Titans. I can't imagine the Ravens would get thoroughly lucky back to back weeks.
  2. Eagles I swayed back and forth on this one, but I just think Philly is the more legitimately good team. The Cardinals are riding a hot streak and feasted off a monumentally bad performance by Jake Delhomme. The Eagles have more talent all around, though they could well come out and lay an egg.
  3. This is ridiculous on the HS coaches part. Its like he has some power or something. If a kid wants to go to SC what can they do to prevent that. They can keep SC coaches away from the school and any games played at the school. I don't think they can do that but the coaches would have a lot of sway over what information the player can get since a lot of that stuff goes through the coaches. Why couldn't they keep SC coaches out of the games? Just refuse to sell them tickets. And yes, I agree they have a lot of sway over what info goes to the kids.
  4. I've seen some mocks with them taking Andre Smith from Bama. It'd be a great choice (though either Bradford or Stafford would as well, but that line needs to be fixed).

  6. Sad day for Colt fans I guess - though not entirely unexpected. Is it pretty certain that Caldwell will take over for him? Or will they still look around a bit? It's definitely sad, but I've expected him to retire the past two seasons. I think it's pretty much set in stone that Caldwell takes over. With his 26-63 collegiate record and some of the available names, I'm dubious if that's the correct decision. Continuity is important, though. He'll have Peyton's trust I guess.
  7. On his blog, Adam Schefter is reporting that he's heard Mike Nolan to Denver as DC is a done deal. Also, Steve Spagnuolo and Brian Schottenheimer are the leading candidates for the Jets job and Ron Rivera will be interviewed by the Lions for the HC job - all according to Schefter.

  9. they should just change to NCAA review rules and call it a day I'd take it.
  10. Jeff Fisher is pissed about the non-call on the delay of game Saturday. "I've always maintained that there's a human element in the game as far as officiating is concerned. [They're] going to make mistakes; it is part of our game,'' Fisher said, according to The Tennessean. "But this particular mistake was unacceptable. There is no excuse for it, it was a mistake, and it was a costly mistake. It was not the reason we lost the game, but it was a mistake, an error.'' He's on the competition committee, so hopefully he'll help make delay of game calls reviewable (much like 12 men on the field and whatnot are).
  11. Go Steelers. Surely the Ravens won't have any more blind luck up their sleeve. And I guess go Eagles. It'd be the best matchup, though it'd be cool to see the Cardinals going for the title after so many years of futility.
  12. might happen next year or the year after, and it might have even happened if tampa hadn't crapped the bed against oakland, but it's not going to happen this offseason. Yeah, you're probably right. And even if he became a free agent, I doubt the Titans would sign him.
  13. I also read on another board that the Houston Chronicle's John McClain believes if Schwartz leaves the Titans will join the Saints in pursuing Gregg Williams. Williams used to be DC for the Titans. McClain also said he believes there is an 80% chance the Titans re-sign Albert Haynesworth. I'm not sure what his connections are, but he seems fairly reliable. I really like all of that news, as well.
  14. A bit more assorted news: Tony Dungy is apparently going to give the Colts his decision on retirement Monday. The Jets are going to interview Ravens' DC Rex Ryan. Detroit owner William Clay Ford wants to personally interview Titans' DC Jim Schwartz. Schwartz has already been interviewed, but Ford wasn't present and wants to interview him personally.
  15. ESPN is reporting that the Broncos will hire Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as their new head coach. It's supposed to be announced Monday.
  16. I know. I've just never understood the national hate for McNabb and Reid. They're both better than most of the people in their business, but even the national media/fans seems to think they suck. I hope Philly fans force McNabb out of there so that the Titans can go after him. He'd be an upgrade over basically any QB other than Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rivers, Eli and Roethlisberger. And he's pretty even with the latter four. I don't know. I know McNabb gets a lot of crap in Philly, but I don't see this national hate yu're talking about. I never see the media saying he sucks. Like I said, I see the opposite. I agree he gets treated poorly in Philly (who isn't?), but I constantly hear people talk about him as an elite quarterback. I can't remember anybody on TV ever talking him down or acting like he's not good. I'd take McNabb over Eli and probably Roethlesberger, but not Rivers or Brees. He's really only had one season at the level of those guys. I'd also put hm behind Romo and Warner (as of right now). I just don't think you can underestimate the impact having crap at receiver has on a QB. The only consistent threats McNabb has had throughout his career are Brian Westbrook and L.J. Smith - and, for two seasons, TO.
  17. Part of his problem has been having no weapons whatsoever. His current WR corps includes Reggie Brown, Hank Baskett, DeSean Jackson, Kevin Curtis and Greg Lewis. I'm not sure there's currently a #2 in there. Here are his receiving leaders throughout his careers: Jackson, Curtis, Brown, TO, TO, Todd Pinkston, Pinkston, James Thrash and Chad Lewis. In two seasons he had a real #1 receiver and he still has comparable numbers to a lot of the better QBs out there. If you gave him Houshmandzadeh/Chad Johnson, Harrison/Wayne, Burress/Toomer, etc., he'd probably have much, much better numbers.

  19. Andy Reid is a very good coach, one of the better in the league. He has a career .610 winning percentage, has been to 5 conference championship games and has won 9 of 15 career playoff games. That's a pretty good resume. Especially considering he's won a higher % of his games than Jeff Fisher, Mike Holmgren, Mike Shanahan and Jon Gruden. His .610 winning % is also just .006% behind Bill Belichick. And McNabb is a very underrated QBs out there. He's one of the better in the league. His own coach calling him the best isn't ridiculous (he's not, but I would expect a coach to embellish his player's value a bit).
  20. ? I think he's predicting the Steelers to lose, perhaps? Thus eliminating all four teams that earned a bye. I am slow. I could be wrong. He could be predicting his own banning.

  22. Jackson didn't even catch it. ? If it's a good throw it's caught in stride. Sorry, I should have edited it. My attempt was to agree with ELCABALLO that with a good throw Rivers has a TD. As it turned out, though, Jackson didn't even catch it. That make more sense? Yes :-)) I blame last night for my inability to communicate properly. :D

  24. Jackson didn't even catch it.
  25. Did Phil Simms just say he had some doubts whether the Steelers would run the football consistently today? In snowy weather to boot? I hope I misheard him.
