  1. I don't get this reference Hendrys Untouchables. Hes the last of his kind. People on the internet overvaluing Fuld = Hendry making him untouchable? I don't get it. Was there ever anything about Hendry not wanting to trade Fuld? I think he was misquoted, and Bruce Miles came on here and told everyone what he really said. Yeah, Hendry said he was not going to trade Pie or Fuld last offseason and Paul Sullivan used the term untouchable to refer to both. Bruce came on and clarified that Hendry never used the term untouchable.
  2. The Chiefs have hired Todd Haley as their new head coach. The Colts have also officially announced Larry Coyer as their DC and promoted Clyde Christensen to assistant head coach.
  3. Wow, that's . . . weird. Not sure there's any harm in that one event, but still.
  4. I didn't know that about Boyd. It definitely puts a new light on things if he had ACL reconstruction. I'm not sure I'd be interested at all in Heaps if he's going to take the mission. Too many shades of JT Mapu for me. And how awesome are those top two names. Who can't get behind QBs named Sims and Montana. :D And it's very disappointing that the year Kiffin targeted to get us a QB is a year where there's not really a great QB available. I'd be more pissed about dropping Boyd now, but his injury does worry me.
  5. Yes, it is Jake (sorry... late, late night for me!). I haven't heard about the Mormon mission- not even the first mention of it. Heaps and Simms appear to be early targets. You can bet that Kiffin and Co will try to get into the door with the top QB's in 2010. The first time I heard anything about the mission was yesterday on the radio. Brent Hubbs mentioned that Heaps may go on one, but it wasn't a certainty yet. Hubbs also mentioned we should watch for Phillip Simms. Though Heaps is the primary target right now.

You can bet that Kiffin and Co will try to get into the door with the top QB's in 2010. As expected both of those young men are going to be hotly contested for. But another couple of kids Tennessee should at and prolly will offer will be Terrance Broadway of LSU country and should be a 5 star QB and a top 10-15 player next yr. Another is Justin Maclin from Tenn. Now I don't expect to land Mac;in but I expect CNS to fight for him. I haven't heard of either, but Kiffin absolutely will not for any reason recruit a mobile QB. He turned away a fully committed Tajh Boyd because he was mobile, so I don't think talent means much to him. If both of those guys are pro-style guys, I'd say he'll be in on them.
  7. Is this guy really worth the trouble? He better be incredibly awesome. The street agent is a pain, but Brown sounds like a Vol. Tonight, on an amateur call in show (VSPN), Brown said he could really see himself at UT, and that he would visit there next weekend (same weekend that 2010 QB TOdd Heaps is visiting). He will visit USC after, but sounded very positive for Tennessee. Brown would bump UT into about the 11th spot on Rivals Top 25 Team Rankings. I just pray he's worth all the crap I'm sure he'll bring with him. And Heaps (isn't it Jake?) is intriguing, but is he going to take a Mormon mission? If so, I think I'd completely lose interest in him.
  8. I'll give you a hand.
  9. Hey, keep it clean now. 8-)

  11. What you think we have 3 mediocre minor leaguers lying around? i suspect cleveland would very reasonably ask for more than that, unfortunately. I might be willing to give them Aaron Miles - if they'd be willing to give us some minor leaguers in return.
  12. I think it will be him or Trammel. I kinda think it would be Trammel. And I would like that.
  13. Well, we know this much is true.
  14. You're right LK isn't the only coach in the SEC talks trash, but other then UM, no other coach does it as publicly as LK. True. You know how to fire up a fanbase? Win ballgames. Trash talking other schools can only take you so far, IMO trash talking does one thing...fire up the OTHER team. It's one thing to trash talks teams like S. Carolina/Vanderbilt/Kentucky, but trash-talking teams that has no problems putting up 40 or so points on Tennessee (Florida, esp..) is never a good thing. Come on, saying "When we beat Florida, we'll be signing Rocky Top all into the night" (or something similar) when you have to play Florida in Gainesville, is never smart. It's more for the fan base than the players. And he hasn't had a chance to win a game yet, so he's got to do something. I'm not crazy about the trash talking and would probably prefer he not, but I think he'll tone it down some when/if we start winning some games. I'm not a fan of Al Davis, but he got the firing of Lane Kiffin right. Because name me on coach who would go for a 76 yard field goal? Look, Tennessee is a great program and great university, so they definately better then Kiffin. Gruden would look nice Tennessee right now, and the best part you could still have Monte Kiffin. When you've got Sebastian Janikowski? Why not try it. I'm not sure I'm that crazy about Gruden coaching college kids. His patience is crappy enough with NFL vets. Purely as far as coaching goes, I preferred Mike Leach, but Leach would not have put together this kind of staff. I'm willing to give Kiffin a shot. He worked wonders winning a game under Al Davis as it was. Fair enough. But Lane Kiffin isn't going to get Tennessee back to where they belong. It's too early to tell that. The only evidence we have is that he and his staff were able to put together a top 15-20 recruiting class in 2 months. Obviously there was help from the previous staff, but that's very impressive.
  15. Overweight guy known best for his pinch hitting roles, yep this sounds like Lenny Harris all over again. He'll get way too many starts this year. Oh yeah, I'm sure he will. Just saying if Dusty used him right, there's a chance he could revert back to 07 Ward.

  17. Nobody yet. You can check on the status of the war rooms on the first post of this thread. Oh Ok I hadn't looked back at that yet...I didn't even know if you guys gave me the Skins Yep, you've got Washington.
  18. Ward could actually be a pretty good signing for them if Dusty wouldn't give him a ton of playing time. But it is Dusty we're talking about, so . . . I don't know how Jones has a spot on the team. Don't the Reds have good outfield depth too?
  19. Yeah, I like the jabs at Florida, but at some point he needs to stop. It's fun to hear, but ultimately, I think it could hurt us. With all due respect to Hosak and you, Dew, Tennessee deserves a better "coach" the Lane Kiffin. This kid, this joke of a coach has been so unprofessional since taking over at Tennessee, that it should be embarrassing Vols fans. I'm sorry dew, don't take this the wrong way, but I hope Alabama/UF/GA and LSU strings up Kiffin on the scoreboard. Lane Kiffin needs to learn some lessons about humility. And pissing off the powers of the SEC is NEVER a good thing for your career. Good fans like you and Hosak deserve a much better representation of the university then Lane Kiffin. Thanks for the good words to me and Hosak, but I don't mind Kiffin that much. He's definitely talking more than a coach with no collegiate wins probably should, but it's not like no SEC coaches talk trash. Right now he's probably just trying to fire up the fan base after a terrible year and general lukewarmness (is that a word?) set in. I think he'll tone it down eventually, but who knows for sure. It could get a bit old after a while if he doesn't. As far as his coaching ability, I've wondered about that since the day we hired him. It'll be interesting to see how he does in game 1 vs UCLA.

  21. That's definitely my plan. Maybe I should get Tivo before the combine starts . . . .
  22. Yeah, I heard that Brown's grandma nixed him going to UT. Hadn't heard that about Orgeron, though. Very disappointing, but not in any way surprising - and that's either scenario.
  23. I count 84 players on their roster from Florida. That includes such Florida names as Jeff Demps, Chris Rainey, Cornelius Ingram, Tim Tebow, Major Wright, Brandon James, Janoris Jenkins and the Pouncey twins. There's plenty of talent to go around in Florida, that's for sure. But UF has been getting the prime talent of late, it seems - though that could be changing. And I agree that the Florida schools have no business going out of state. Like I said, there's more than enough talent for all three major universities (about to be four with USF) to choose from.
  24. Okay, now hearing from several people (including an inference by Kiffin himself) that Oku is still a priority and that we might expect some good news on him today. I hope he's worth the drama, if he indeed signs here. Good, I like Oku despite his attention-mongering ways. Wow, that's kinda awesome and kinda crazy too.
