  1. Lions just keep hanging in there close enough to be interesting, but not quite getting back into the game. 31-20 Saints late third quarter.
  2. And then Stafford throws a pick.
  3. Reggie Bush just fumbled a punt return and the Lions take over near the Saints' 10 with 39 seconds to go in the half.
  4. Oh well, today showed what I expected Tennessee to be before the season started. Crompton was ok at times but struggled at others and the offensive line was up and down. I thought we'd run the ball better than we did, but UCLA has a very solid defense. The crowd was fantastic throughout the game. It was utterly deafening on the field and it seemed to get to Prince and the Bruin offense some early. To their credit, though, they overcame the crowd and made the plays when they needed to be made. Tennessee's defense looked really good throughout the game as well. Looks like this year's team is basically the same as last year's team - great defense, poor offense. The defense will likely do its best to slow down Florida next week, but it likely won't be close. Congrats Raisin. It was a well-earned win.
  5. Agreed with everything you said. Having to go on the road, against the defending champion is just a terrible break to start the year. Before our Week 7 bye, we have the Steelers (road), Texans, Jets (road), Jags (road), Colts and Patriots (road). If we can go 3-3 before our bye, I'll be very happy (wins over Hou, NYJ and Jax most likely). If we can pick off a win over Indy or the Pats and go in 4-2, I'll feel really good about the rest of the season.
  6. Smokies lost game one 4-2. Marquez Smith had a double and Colvin homered.
  7. Oh well. It was a great game. The lack of pressure from the front four is not good and why Chuck Cecil refused to blitz from the fourth quarter on is confusing. But overall the team played well against a very good team. Special teams needs to be fixed as well.
  8. I have to wonder why we're not blitzing.
  9. I love overtime in the first game of the season.
  10. Huge break!!!!!!!!! Great job by Michael Griffin!!!
  11. I do like that commercial. Between the Super Bowl Coke Zero commercial and this one, Polamolu has been in some good commericals.
  12. Haha, I was just thinking that earlier. I can't imagine Bironas continuing to struggle, though, and the return game should get better with more experience from Ringer and Finnegan.
  13. Good job by the offense and Bironas. Defense just needs to keep it up now.
  14. Are both teams sloppy with the illegal formations or are these refs being really picky? And Gage has to catch that.
  15. We need to get field position back in our favor.
  16. We've missed some opportunities (two missed field goals), but overall I'm happy with how the game is sitting right now. We get the ball first in the second half and it'd be huge if we could take advantage - either by getting points or pinning the Steelers very deep.
  17. So close. So very close. . .
  18. What's with all the illegal formations being called tonight?
  19. That's a big sack. I like to see William Hayes make plays.
  20. He wasn't physical enough on the first deep interception and then didn't make a sharp enough break on the comeback route. Both of those are things that work in college, but not in the NFL, though. Yeah, I like Britt and thought Philly made a mistake by taking Maclin over him. I like Maclin but they could use a guy like Britt opposite Jackson, IMO. Maclin seems redundant. If he gets more physical and meaner he'll be good in the red zone. I think the physicality will come with experience. The NFL is a different game from college and I think Britt will realize that. He's extremely talented, though, and (very early prognostication) likely a great value at 30.

  22. Great way to answer Pittsburgh's TD!
  23. Britt's looked like a rookie so far. But not on that play!!!! \:D/
  24. Two deep passes and we couldn't get pressure on either. Blast.
  25. Hopefully he still has his power He still looks stout enough. He's closer to his USC weight and he had plenty of power then, so he should be good. He hasn't been this weight since his freshman year at SC. He was 260+ in the national championship game against Texas (when he was a beast and totally outplayed Bush). He's always had great patience and vision for a good zone blocking scheme. I thought he was lighter his senior year and then ballooned in the offseason. I don't think losing the weight will affect the power that much. Hope Polamolu is okay. EDIT: For what it's worth, the USC site has him listed at 235 his junior year (the year he declared).
