  1. Pete Carroll is using song titles to hint at who the Seahawks will select with their 2 picks tonight.
  2. Another group of rumors from Lombardi, really interesting stuff here. Highlights:
  3. mhuber and the Seahawks are on the clock. I PMd him.
  4. I wasn't surprised you went WR there, but I figured you'd go Benn over Thomas. Either is a good value here, though. vance and shnsajax are on the clock for the Cowboys' pick. I PMd them.
  5. It's hard to gauge that, though. Zambrano would be throwing fewer innings and pitches out of the bullpen. However, relievers are usually encouraged to throw harder and let loose compared to starters. My worry with Zambrano is that he'll let loose in relief and do something to screw up his mechanics or delivery, which could lead to a lot of problems when he returns to starting or, worse, injuries. I'm praying the Cubs keep a close eye on him and that he doesn't overdo it in relief. Yeah, it definitely couldn't be quantified, but my thinking was that the fewer innings could help Z stay healthier longer and slowing down the decline similar pitchers like Livan Hernandez hit. That's a good point on him potentially changing his mechanics, though.
  6. Excellent analysis TT. I think this moves makes it that much more imperative that Gorz and Silva pitch well. I don't like moving Z to the pen, but it could be a reflection of Rothschild's confidence in Gorz and Silva's ability to pitch well the rest of the season. And I do trust Rothschild. On a side note, could this move keep Z's arm healthier assuming he moves back to the rotation later this year or at the start of next year? It'll be a lighter workload for him that might prolong his health and effectiveness. Just a thought.
  7. CubbieBum and the Cardinals are on the clock. I PMd him.
  8. More interesting draft rumors, this time from Michael Lombardi, who appears to have very good connections. Highlights: I've heard this previously, so I'm thinking there's merit to it. Also:
  9. Yeah, I probably should have taken Benn for the Bengals, but Antonio Bryant just got that shiny new contract and they seem to plan on taking a TE. WrigleyField 22 and the Ravens are on the clock. I PMd him.
  10. Flames24Rulz and the Packers are on the clock. I PMd him.
  11. I would agree with that. The top handful of guys have seperated themselves. The reason this class is considered deep is that there are going to be 10 or so guys taken outside of the 1st rd that would in most years be 1st rd picks. I think after the mid-2nd rd the class is pretty run of the mill in terms of talent. I think it's even deeper than that. I agree that there will be a number of guys who are taken in the second round who are 1st round guys most years, but I think the 2nd round talent is deep enough to push some 2nd round guys to the 3rd round. There can be some real value picks later in this draft if teams recognize them.
  12. To be honest, after the first 5 guys or so (Berry, Suh, G McCoy, Okung, McClain), I don't see much separation from guy #6 to guys in the early to mid 2nd round.
  13. Z would be more valuable starting than relieving. Especially since Marmol is a very good closer and Marshall would be excellent for the 8th inning role.
  14. As long as the Titans' D catches a couple JaMarcus Russell passes, they'll be fine. That's pretty questionable. They could also bump him softly a couple times to force fumbles - that would work as well. I'll definitely feel better if the ball doesn't get to our secondary.
  15. As long as the Titans' D catches a couple JaMarcus Russell passes, they'll be fine. That's pretty questionable.
  16. The Bengals have shown interest in a tight end – even in the first round apparently – and there's a very good one still sitting on the board. Thus, the Bengals select Rob Gronkowski, TE, Arizona. TruffleShuffle and the Eagles are on the clock. I PMd him.
  17. Titans open with Oakland at home. I hope we don't start 0-6 again.
  18. Interesting rumors about the draft. A couple of tidbits:
  19. ELCABALLO and the Patriots are on the clock. I PMd him.
  20. Interesting. I thought he might wait til after the draft to see what interest the Dolphins would have.
  21. rawaction and the Texans are on the clock. I PMd him.
  22. Yeah, I get some of the basics, but couldn't give you any strategies or anything like that. I've always been moderately interested in hockey, but never followed it at all.
  23. Gresham went 22nd to the Pats.
  24. TT and the Chiefs are on the clock. I PMd him.
