  1. Braggart . . .
  2. Starting Felix Jones over Jacobs last night wasn't the right decision, but it worked out. Three game winning streak and up to 4-3!
  3. Britt has the talent to keep being awesome (not that awesome, though, obviously). He just needs to remember how to catch the football.
  4. Yeah, Dunn's a good value at 3 years, $13 mil a year. I'd be all for that.
  5. Wins over Georgia, Florida and Houston. Their losses have come @ LSU by 22 and vs current #1 in the BCS Auburn by 3. Not a great resume, but I don't think it's a travesty to have them barely in it.
  6. I know they've played pretty bad and Norv Turner is their head coach, but the Chargers scare me. With Rivers at QB and Gates and Sproles on that team, they could give the Titans fits. This is similar to the Eagles game in that they have a good QB (Rivers is better than Kolb, obviously) with good weapons on the outside and a capable running game. Biggest difference, though, is the Eagles have a terrible line and the Titans could pressure Kolb largely with the four down linemen. The Chargers have a good line, though, and we'll have to take guys away from coverage to pressure Rivers. Titans probably lose, but a win would be absolutely huge. I'll happily take either 5-3 or 6-2 into the bye, though.
  7. I got all "smart" and took him out of my starting lineup during halftime of the early games...*sigh* I went through names such as Danny Woodhead, Justin Forsett, Ronnie Brown, Jonathan Stewart and LeGarrette Blount in an attempt to get McFadden on the bench in the league I started him. The injury had me very concerned about whether he'd even play, much less be effective. I ended up going with the Bradshaw/Jacobs duo in the other league I have McFadden in.
  8. I need about 8 points in a non-PPR league. Do I go with Felix Jones or Brandon Jacobs? I'm leaning toward Jones because he'll get the majority of his team's carries, but one touchdown by Jacobs will nearly get what I need. Also, Darren McFadden got me 43 points this week. I hate that I left him on my bench in one of my two leagues.
  9. Beating South Carolina would be pretty huge for the program right now, but it's still going to be dependent on them playing poorly. They've been mediocre for the past three weeks now, so hopefully they'll stay that way Saturday so that we have a shot at the win. If not, we'll have to sweep November (Ole Miss, Memphis, Vandy, Kentucky) to make a bowl game. We can win all four of those games, but we're not likely to win them all.
  10. I really, really love Kenny Britt. It's been apparent for a while that he had the talent for games like this if he could just catch the ball consistently. He did today and it won us the game. That was a simply huge win for the Titans. That puts us at 5-2 with wins over Dallas, Philly and @ Jacksonville. Those were three games before the year I really doubted we'd win. If we can beat a very vulnerable Charger team next week, we'll really be in good shape heading into the bye. Hopefully Vince will be ready to go Sunday, though. Until Britt decided to be unstoppable, Kerry looked really, really bad. We need Vince out there to move the ball with consistency.
  11. No. It doesn't matter if the ball hits the ground as long as the receiver controls the ball which he did. The ball never moved. The ball definitely shifted while in his grip. He never lost control of it, but the ball definitely wiggled a bit before he completely possessed it. Now whether it moved enough to warrant overturning it is pretty debatable, but it definitely moved.
  12. No Vince tomorrow, it appears. That leaves Kerry Collins as the starter and Rusty Smith as the backup. The defense has got to play well for us to win.
  13. Tennessee is giving Bama a fight early. It's making me nervous.
  14. People had heard of Ron Washington before he got the job, though. That means he's a better manager than Quade ever could be.
  15. In all honesty I might go Avant and Sims-Walker. Those are probably the two weakest pass defenses of the four and the Raiders will probably look to run the ball with Kyle Boller likely starting at QB. It's tough call, though, so you might want to look to somebody better at it than me.
  16. Not to quibble but he's never sniffed the upper ends of those ranges. His career OBP is .368 and SLG is .410 - although it has gone up each year...still it's a little optimistic, I think, to use those ranges for him. My bad, I was going off memory and thought he had a higher OBP and SLG last year. Even still, replace .400 OBP with .375 and mid-.400s slugging with .438 and you have the same point. He gets on base a lot and slugs enough to make him very much worth $10 mil a year when you also include his good defense.
  17. The Titans' defensive weakness is the pass defense. With DJax healthy, I'd say definitely go Kolb, but I think the Titans can contain them a bit better with Maclin being the only deep threat. Since you have Winslow, I'd lean toward Freeman probably.
  18. Like I said, which one I'd prefer is dependent on what I need. The value between the two is really close if the only option is to play them in the outfield. If you can minimize Dunn's horrid defense, though, then he's the far superior player. Perceived value isn't the best way to determine a player's real value. Kosuke's overpaid, I think I've said that already, but not by that much. A .370-.400 OBP with a mid-.400s slugging plus good defense is plenty worth $10 mil a year or more. Kosuke's age and the preconceived notion that a corner OF must hit for a bunch of power to be valuable would decrease his contract this year. A team like the Red Sox would probably pick him up for a really good value.
  19. Somebody's getting fined, I'd guess. Doesn't mean they're wrong, though.
  20. Since the Colts are famous on saying people are day to day no matter how severe the injury, I see that as a very bad sign. I'd be almost certain about it except that Clark has been a very fast healer one time before when they were going to IR him and then suddenly he was back for the playoffs. Man, that's tough for the Colts. Definitely helps the Titans (and the Texans), but hurts one of my fantasy teams. Do the Colts still have Tamme at TE?
  21. I'd like to see a very good defensive team play Oregon. Bama's top 11 in yards/game. Oregon/TCU would be really interesting as well. If you're just looking at defenses, LSU has been really, really good this year, but there's no way they'd hang with Oregon unless Les Miles invested in a half dozen or so more horseshoes.
  22. I want to see Boise in the BCS title game, but I'd really love to see a bowl matchup between Oregon and Alabama. Two completely contrasting styles, but both teams are really good at what they do.
  23. That's way too much, I think. I don't think we need Greinke that much. With as much really good young pitching as we have both in the majors and minors, I don't think we should be giving prospects for a pitcher. If it was a really good, young bat, I'd consider overpaying.
  24. Was the money not spent wisely on Kosuke? It wasn't a great move by any means, but they've been OBP starved for quite a while. They got a different player than they envisioned, but that doesn't mean adding a high-OBP, strong defensive player is spending money unwisely.
